FASTENER SPECIFICATIONS – NAILS Nail Head Types
Nail Shank Types
Nail Point Type
D-HEAD
SMOOTH
DIAMOND
Offers similar performance to round head nails but enables fasteners to be collated hard up against each other.
Smooth shank nails provide excellent holding power in most timber applications.
The most common and easiest to drive.
ROUNDRIVE
RING
New style of head design allows for tight collation and ensures much greater holding power.
Ring shank nails provide superiorwithdrawal resistance in softwood receiving timbers.
Nail Collation Type PROSTRIP PAPER TAPE No collation material is left on the job site.
DEKFAST
SCREW/TWIST
Offers an aesthetic appearance when counter sunk into treated pine, gives the look of a round head nail.
Excellent for hardwood receiving timbers.

STANDARD CROWN
SMOOTH – available in:
GLUE COATING
The industry standard for most applications.
Medium wire: 18 gauge; 1.2mm
Glue coating – No collation material is left on the job site.
Heavy wire: 16 gauge; 1.6mm
RAISED CROWN The raised crown is mainly used in wire fastening to timber post e.g trellising in a winery or rural fencing. Crown width 12.7mm.
Staple Point Types BLUNT CHISEL Not suitable for clinching applications. DIVERGENT POINT Legs travel in opposite directions to increase holding power.

Nail Shank Types
ROUND
DOME
SMOOTH
Conventional nail head shape. Best suited to applications requiring higher pull-through resistance.
Offer an aesthetically pleasing result. Ideal for decking.
Smooth shank nails provide excellent holding power in most timber applications. Available in a wide range of lengths and shank diameter.
D-HEAD
RING
Offers similar performance to round head nails but enables fasteners to be collated hard up against each other.
Ring shank nails provide superior withdrawal resistance in softwood receiving timbers.
T & FINISH HEAD

FASTENER SPECIFICATIONS – NAILS Nail Point Types DIAMOND
CONICAL
The most common and easiest drive. The diamond point can, however, contribute to splitting in some applications.
Ideal for penetrating steel. Used on nails in steel framed construction.
SHEAR POINT Helps to reduce the splitting encountered with diamond point fasteners.
Nail Collation Types COIL NAILS: Plastic collated – 15 degree and 0 degree
BLUNT CHISEL Almost eliminates timber splitting. Not suitable for clinching applications.
Genuine no-flag nailing system for cleaner, better looking jobs. Ensures positive delivery of nail every time.
STRIP NAILS: Pro-Strip Paper Tape No collation material is left on the job site.
STRIP NAILS: Duo-Fast Round Head Strip Nails The system enables round head nails to be collated for 20 degree strip nailers.
STRIP NAILS: T Head Nails Typically these nails are constructed from a band or wire. The nails are covered in a glue to help protect them from separating.

18 Gauge = 1.2mm 16 Gauge = 1.6mm 15 Gauge = 1.8mm 14 Gauge = 2.0mm Wire diameter indication
No collation material is left on the job site. The brads are bound closely together to maximize magazine capacity of the tool.
D-HEAD Tight collation with improved pull through resistance.
PLASTIC TAPE
Brad Point Type CHISEL A common cut style for most brads and staples.
Plastic tape will not deteriorate in rain or moisture. Small amount of waste, only flakes of plastic.

Description
Bright
•
Un-plated
Zinc Plated/ Electroplated
•
Simplest and cheapest method of providing limited corrosion resistance
Electro Galv
•
Very common and economic method of providing moderate corrosion resistance
Dacrotised
•
Polymer coating used to bond zinc flakes to the nail surface
Hot Dip Galvanised
• •
Most widely accepted method providing long term corrosion resistance Product is cleaned and then dipped into a bath of molten zinc
Mechanically Galvanised
• •
Highly effective method of providing long term corrosion resistance whilst maintaining a high quality appearance Nails are coated with zinc by peening
• •
Nails are manufactured from stainless steel wire. For use in extreme environments where corrosion resisance is imperative.
Stainless Steel
Class
A polymer or glue coating is applied to the nail shank. This coating performs two functions: Reduces driving force to enable fasteners to be driven using less energy or be driven deeper and greatly increases the resistance to withdrawal. Corrosion Classes Class 1: For internal use Class 2: For internal use where significant levels of condensation occurs. Class 3: For external use in mild industrial and moderate marine applications. Class 4: For external use in moderate and severe marine environments (generally from 100m to 300m from the beach front).

FRAMER Paslode™ Impulse Cordless Lithium-Ion FrameMaster PowerVent Nail Gun Paslode™’s Impulse Gas Technology Tools have created a faster and safer method of working on site by eliminating the need to carry heavy air compressors and air hoses. A new innovation on all Paslode™ Li-ION tools is the addition of an On / Off Battery Position. This increases battery charging life and prevents disengaged batteries dropping from the tool. The On / Off position also saves the cost of replacement batteries and improves work-site safety. • The Tradie’s choice for all general framing applications. • Increase power - to eliminate standing nails in harder wood types • Optimal performance in extreme weather • Longer run time battery - 9,000 shots per charge
