UPDATE HIGHLIGHTS Feature/Enhancement Active Directory Remote Authentication
Description and Benefit LDAP remote authentication has been enhanced for interoperation with Active Directory servers, allowing SLC users to be remotely authenticated via Active Directory.
IP Filtering
The former “Firewall” settings (web and CLI) have been replaced by the “IP Filter”, for enhanced system security. The IP Filter allows restrictions to be placed on incoming connections to SLC, based on the protocol type, port number or range, and the originating IP address.
Dial-in and Dial-on-Demand Modem Connection Mode
A new modem operating mode has been added, called “Dial-In and Dial-on-Demand”, which allows a modem to accept Dial-In PPP connections, when a Dial-on-Demand connection is not established. This setting may be used with both PC Card and external (RS-232) modems.
Additional TACACS+ Servers
TACACS+ Remote User Authentication settings have been updated to add two (2) additional TACACS+ servers, for a total of three (3) TACACS+ servers, in environments where multiple TACACS+ servers are employed.
UPDATE AVAILABILITY Customers with existing SLCs, electing to take advantage of the new features and capabilities of the v4.3 firmware, may upgrade their units at no additional charge.
