Issue V1.0 (2012-01-31) HUAWEI PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL COPYRIGHT © HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD Page 10 of 17 HUAWEI UGW9500 Universal Media Gateway Product Description When a user using Huawei videoconferencing products places a call to a Cisco site (or a call is made in an opposite direction), the HUAWEI UGW9500 receives the call request, and schedules a point-to-point conference. When joining the conference, the center codec of a Huawei telepresence site notifies the HUAWEI UGW9500 of whether the site has left and right codecs and corresponding numbers. The Cisco site then negotiates its relevant number of codecs using the Real-time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP). After the center codec joins the conference, second-time capability negotiation ensures that Huawei and Cisco sites' capabilities match each other and that the capabilities of the left and right codecs at the Huawei site match the center codec's. The HUAWEI UGW9500 can call the left and right codecs to join the conference. During the conference, the left, center, right screens display the corresponding images at the remote end. Conference control functions, however, are not supported. Any party in the conference can end the conference. The HUAWEI UGW9500 will then release the resources. 3.2 IMS Networking Figure 3-2 IMS networking The HUAWEI UGW9500 enables telepresence sites and H.323 HD/SD sites in an IMS network to join a Cisco telepresence conference.
