HomePlug Turbo (85Mbps) > USB Host The GigaFast HomePlug Turbo USB Host operates on the HomePlug Powerline 1.0 Powerline Specification, providing a 85Mbps connection to a remote USB device over home AC wiring. Since the home power lines are the most pervasive medium in households with multiple outlets in every room, the PE918-UB HomePlug USB Host is the best way to connect USB devices such as USB mp3 player, PDA, cell phones, hard drives, flash drives, web cameras, and printers allowing them to connect to a computer over the powerlines without any additional wiring. If plugging in a phone, the phone will be connected to a remote computer over powerline, and charged by the devices USB port, allowing the PE918-UB to become a remote docking station for your device. Like all of our HomePlug Turbo products, this PL918-UB is equipped with 56-bit DES security encryption. Combining the private home power grid and the 56-bit DES security encryption, this PL918-UB is extremely secure compared to other technologies such as WiFi networks.
