PHARE. The Mast Concept .de Video surveillance in open-air areas The efficient surveillance of open-air areas very often require the installation of video cameras and light sources attached to free-standing poles or masts. Frequently, for that purpose, the same type of masts is used for street or area lighting. Normally, these are round pipe sections with a buried base and different diameters over the overall length (multiple spigots). Usually, an inspection flap is integrated in the lower part of the pole, big enough to allow for the housing of electric lighting connections and circuit breaker elements. The cable conduits may run inside the pipe - cable outlets to the lighting sources consist of drilled holes and screw holds in the round pipe section or at the upper end of the mast. For today’s network-based video surveillance, however, this type of technology can be used to a limited extent only, because due to the length restrictions required for CAT cables additional electronic components are needed to transport image content via fiber optic cables. These electronic components require not only space but also power supply. Inside a mast, as we initially described, there would not usually be sufficient space to house all these additional components needed. The PHARE concept, therefore, provides for: • • • • mast – square steel profile – configurable up to a height of 6 meters foldable for pre-installation and fixing the electric connections all cables are concealed and unreachable within the profile connection box (lockable) either in the lower part (approx. 1 m over ground foundation) or, for security and anti-sabotage reasons, fixed at the top (to one of the upper mast segments) • (top) cable outlet pre-installed on the four sides • attachments for camera wall brackets with inside cable conduits, e.g. for WBOVA2 are prefabricated with core threads at the four sides • prefabricated core threads for the fixation of IR LED spots of the SEVEN-V-series, also on all four sides Advantages • CAMERA and SPOTLIGHT components can be preinstalled at the top pole segment in the workshop • Raising of the mast can be done by one single person • Electric connections can be installed in place, with the mast being jacked-up, particularly if the ASK7 is to be fixed to one of the upper pole segments • For servicing it is easy to tilt the mast and access all components (cameras, light sources and switch box) PHARE. IEEE 802.3i 10BASE-T Ethernet ... IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet •• The optical fiber connection uses pluggable SFP transceiver modules allowing for simplex or duplex mode. Since the use of SFP-modules is an optional offer, already tried and tested own SFPmodules may also be used. ••• SWEEDER® 4 is universally usable since it corresponds to the PoE norms af and at; however, it is particularly designed for PoE++enabled devices, such as cameras, weather proof housing, spotlights etc. PoE standards: …af …at …PoE++ up to 15 Watt up to 25 Watt up to 90 Watt It is, in fact, comfortably usable for the SHELTER weatherproof series. Using the PoE SEVEN-V wall arm, the SHELTER camera weatherproof housing and a SEVEN-V spotlight can be operated with just one single Ethernet cable cable. This means that not only the camera and the heating but also the spotlight are power supplied via a single Ethernet cable. And, in spite of that, camera data and the spotlight control system can be accessed and controlled at the same time. Errors and technical changes excepted LightDec GmbH & Co.
