V.150621 Wireless Setup on PC and Mac 1. Check the Hardware Installation The Phylink camera can connect to any wireless network through standard 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connections. You can set the camera up to work wirelessly with your broadband router using a PC or Mac. Before you begin, ensure the camera is connected to your router with the Ethernet cable first and then powered up. NOTICE Please note that for initial setup, you need to connect the camera directly to your router or switch with a network cable. You cannot connect wirelessly to the camera without first setting it up via a network cable. After successful wireless setup, you can remove the network cable and the camera should work through the wireless network after a short delay. 2. Locate the camera on your local network Download and run the Phylink Camera Live which you can download from www.phylink.com . If your PC or Mac is in the same local network with your camera, the Phylink Camera Live can search the cameras. That means your PC or Mac and your camera need to connect a same router at your home or office. Start the Phylink Camera Live and click on “Setup” from Main Toolbar to enter the advanced setting via a web browser. Press the "Search" button then the program should automatically find your camera if it is correctly connected. Click the required camera from the camera list and it will be highlighted. Security mode: Encryption type: Wireless Setup Search... TCP/IP Setup DDNS Setup UPNP Setup P2P Setup WPA2PSK Storage AES Task WPA Key: Re-type WPA Key: Tools Apply Test NOTICE Please remember that both WPA and WPA2 keys are case sensitive and need to be between 8 and 63 characters. Most likely your wireless network was set up with a password. If you don't remember it, you can check you router's wireless setup menu or ask the person who set up your wireless network. Without the password you can not proceed with your camera's wireless setup. So you can either continue to use your camera in wired mode or set up a new wireless key/password on your router. Step 4 Now you should use the “Test” feature to check if you typed it correctly. If the test reports “Success!” you can remove the network cable and it should work wireless after a short delay. If the test reports “no wireless connection”, please double check your WPA key. Congratulations! At this point you should be able to use your camera wired or wireless on your local network using the same local IP address. 4. Adhoc Wireless Setup Options If you want to make a direct wireless connection from your camera to your computer, you will need to setup the camera in "Adhoc" mode. In order to view the camera directly from your computer you first need to configure the wireless device in your computer. Once "Adhoc" has been selected, select a "Security Mode" and type in a connection key, and click "Apply". 5. WPS Setup Additionally the Phylink camera can be setup through a WPS connection, if your router supports this function. To know how to use WPS Setup function, please refer to “Wireless Installation with WPS function” section in the user manual.
