All Pioneer 2012 A/V Receivers are now equipped with a front USB input and are Made for iPod® and iPhone® certified, while step-up models add Made for iPad® Certification with included USB / Video cable, allowing consumers out of the box connectivity, battery charging, and easy access to their iTunes® libraries. PC’s, laptops, and memory devices are also easily connected via the front panel USB input, now ready for the highest quality music file playback.

All Pioneer VSX models are powered with discrete Direct Energy amplifiers designed to minimize the signal route between signal input, amplification, and speaker output, virtually eliminating internal and external noise-inducing distortion.
Get Connected to your Music Starting with the VSX-822, Pioneer network ready receivers have never been more affordable, with models starting at under $400 streaming the world of high quality music into more homes than ever before. AirPlay® – AirPlay brings your iTunes library wirelessly to your home theater system. Just pick a song, artist, album, or playlist from your PC, iPod touch®, iPhone, or iPad, press the AirPlay icon, select your Pioneer networked receiver, and that’s it. The receiver will power-up and begin playing your selections with full color on-screen album art and song information on your TV, while music is transported to your speakers. AirPlay even works with other music services like iHeart Radio®, Pandora®, and Rhapsody® residing on your Apple® device. DLNA® 1.5 certified – Streaming the highest quality music from your laptop, PC, or “smart-device” is the way to the world of audiophile music enjoyment. All of Pioneer’s 2012 network ready AVRs are capable of receiving, decoding, and playing the highest quality uncompressed music files with up to 192kHz sample rates with 24-bit resolutions. Pandora and vTuner® – All 2012 network ready receivers offer access to Pandora Radio as well as tens of thousands of Internet radio stations through the vTuner service, offering convenience, high bit-rate stations, control via the Pioneer control apps, and on-screen album art. Bluetooth® – Starting with the VSX-822-K, Bluetooth audio streaming is possible with the AS-BT200 option.
FLAC & WAV File Playback – With up to 192kHz 24-Bit FLAC and WAV file playback possible through your home network or via front USB inputs, “HiFi” is back! Auto Phase Control Plus – An enhanced version of Pioneer’s exclusive Phase Control technology found on all models, the VSX-1122 is equipped with new Auto Phase Control Plus, which monitors and automatically adjusts for subwoofer time delays in real time for the most dynamic 7.2 multichannel experience. Video Processing – Both the VSX-1022 and VSX-1122 make a single wire HDMI connection to your HDTV easy with video conversion to HDMI as well as 1080p video scaling. The VSX-1122 brings our Advanced Video Adjust suite of high definition video calibration and 1080p/24fps video conversion as well as the Pioneerexclusive Stream Smoother, designed to enhance low bit-rate video sources.
The Future of Connection and Control HDMI® – 2012 offers more HDMI inputs up to 7 with all models supporting a new improved HDMI mode, allowing audio and video to “pass through” the receiver to your TV while the receiver is in standby. Additionally, input switching is possible, and HDMI CEC is no longer required. Apps and more Apps – All 2012 network ready receivers can be controlled via your iPhone, iPad, or Android™ phone. The VSX-822-K and VSX-1022K are controlled via Pioneer ControlApp, and starting with the VSX-1222, an all new iControlAV2012 adds Sound Explorer, designed to bring all of Pioneer’s proprietary sound enhancement technologies to your fingertips. For Bluetooth, Pioneer’s AirJam app makes sharing playlists and finding new music with friends easy and fun. All Pioneer apps are available at no charge from the iTunes Store and Google Play. AS-WL300 Wireless LAN – The VSX-1122 is wireless network ready with the optional AS-WL300 adapter with easy WPS set-up, 1 meter extension, and rear panel USB power.
