INSTALLATION GUIDE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION PKFM is a "No Key Required" data transponder override solution that offers the most secure means to temporarily override the Ford PATS transponder immobilizer system when remote starting. The preloaded "PKFORD" firmware communicates directly with ALL generations of Ford PATS equipped immobilizer systems including the latest encrypted version to provide seemless, safe and secure system integration for the purpose of adding aftermarket remote start. Dependable in all weather conditons, PKFM upgradeable data transponder override interface is the right solution when reliable, safe and secure remote starting of a Ford, Lincoln, Mercury or Mazda vehicle is what you are after. PKFM is best known for its "out of the box" coverage of all Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Mazda vehicles equipped with any one of the Passive Anti-Theft Systems types (PATS) used by Ford over the last 10 years. The depth of coverage of this firmware is extensive enough to have formerly required three seperate kits to do the same job.

Module programming is similar to Ford additional key programming. NB: You must have two (2) valid keys for programming module. MAX 5 SECONDS INTERVALS BETWEEN EACH STEP After all connection is done, if the LED stay OFF, the module is already programmed. If the module has never been programmed, the LED will comes ON and will stay ON until the programming is finished. 1- Turn the first valid key to "ON" position, until the security light goes OFF. Put the key OFF and remove from ignition. 2- Within 5 seconds, turn the second valid key to "ON" position until security light goes OFF. Put the key OFF and remove from ignition. *On manual transmission vehicle, you have to do wire programming before connect D2D.* 3! For automatic transmission vehicle, start the vehicle with remote starter, the module is programmed. ! For manual transmission vehicle, connect temporarily the brown wire of module to vehicle Ground. Use a jumper wire to power up
the vehicle ignition. ! When the LED goes OFF and start to flash once per second, the module is programmed. ! If the LED stay ON, repeat from Step 1.
4- For D2D connection, disconnect the module and connect D2D connector and 10 PIN connector. *Each time the GWR is power up or detected in D2D, the LED flash once per second. Reset the module Press and hold programming button while plugging the module. When the LED comes ON, release programming button. When the LED shuts, the reset is complete.

LIMITED ONE-YEAR CONSUMER WARRANTY
For a period of ONE YEAR from the date of purchase of a Directed Electronics remote start or security product, Directed Electronics. (“DIRECTED”) promises to the original purchaser, to repair or replace with a comparable reconditioned piece, the security or remote start accessory piece (hereinafter the “Part”), which proves to be defective in workmanship or material under normal use, provided the following conditions are met: the Part was purchased from an authorized DIRECTED dealer; and the Part is returned to DIRECTED, postage prepaid, along with a clear, legible copy of the receipt or bill of sale bearing the following information: consumer’s name, address, telephone number, the authorized licensed dealer’s name and complete product and Part description. This warranty is nontransferable and is automatically void if the Part has been modified or used in a manner contrary to its intended purpose or the Part has been damaged by accident, unreasonable use, neglect, improper service, installation or other causes not arising out of defect in materials or construction. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO EXPRESS WARRANTY, IMPLIED WARRANTY, WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND WARRANTY OF NON INFRINGEMENT OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED; AND DIRECTED NEITHER ASSUMES NOR AUTHORIZES ANY PERSON OR ENTITY TO ASSUME FOR IT ANY DUTY, OBLIGATION OR LIABILITY IN CONNECTION WITH ITS PRODUCTS. DIRECTED HEREBY DISCLAIMS AND HAS ABSOLUTELY NO LIABILITY FOR ANY AND ALL ACTS OF THIRD PARTIES INCLUDING DEALERS OR INSTALLERS. IN THE EVENT OF A CLAIM OR A DISPUTE INVOLVING DIRECTED OR ITS SUBSIDIARY, THE PROPER VENUE SHALL BE SAN DIEGO COUNTY IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. CALIFORNIA STATE LAWS AND APPLICABLE FEDERAL LAWS SHALL APPLY AND GOVERN THE DISPUTE. THE MAXIMUM RECOVERY UNDER ANY CLAIM AGAINST DIRECTED SHALL BE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE AUTHORIZED DIRECTED DEALER’S PURCHASE PRICE OF THE PART. DIRECTED SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, DAMAGES FOR THE LOSS OF TIME, LOSS OF EARNINGS, COMMERCIAL LOSS, LOSS OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND THE LIKE. NOTWITHSTANDING THE ABOVE, THE MANUFACTURER DOES OFFER A LIMITED WARRANTY TO REPLACE OR REPAIR AT DIRECTED’S OPTION THE PART AS DESCRIBED ABOVE. This Interface kit / Data Bus Interface part has been tested on the listed vehicles. Other vehicles will be added to the select vehicle list upon completion of compatibility testing.
