Features Real Time Encoding of Content from Cameras or Video Servers Equipped with SDI, HD-SDI, or HDMI Outputs. Supports IP Unicast or Multicast Transport Streams. Output Resolution is 1080i/p, 720p, 480i, QCIF, or Any Other Resolution. Ideal Destinations are Devices that Accept Transport Streams such as Inexpensive Set-Top Boxes or Our Own T-Ramp™ or D-Streamer IP/DIG/m™. Supports Embedded SDI Audio. Overview MPEG-2 is the original video codec that is now pervasive throughout the broadcast world. The Polycoder m/HD-SDI 2-12ch IP is a real time MPEG-2 encoder designed to capture up to twelve simultaneous SDI, HD-SDI, and/or optional HDMI signals and transform them into IP streams that are best suited for today’s digital environments. It is designed to be scalable, easily adaptable, and field upgradeable to meet the needs of cable and IP network operators who are very comfortable with embedded Linux® based appliances. It relies on Intel® Dual 14 Core CPUs for encoding. We have optimized the encoder to obtain Telco grade reliability and visual quality. The Polycoder m/HD-SDI 2-12ch IP is an excellent quality MPEG-2 encoder relying on an X.64 engine supporting either 4:2:0 or optional 4:2:2 visual quality. Resulting streams can be viewed with standard transport stream compatible set-top boxes, or software clients such as VLC or JW Player. The system encodes individual streams up to a maximum of 15 Mbps. Output can be either unicast or multicast.
