Getting started
Getting started To get started using your ēno™ one and PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in for projector icon strip control: 1. Install the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in on your computer 2. Configure the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in for the computer port where the projector is connected.
How to install the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in System requirements Your computer must have: •
512 MB RAM
•
VGA HD-15 video port
•
USB com port or network connectivity
•
PolyVision Driver 2.1 or above installed
Your Windows-based computer must have: •
Pentium processor
•
Windows XP SP2, Tablet XP SP2, Vista, or Windows 7
Your Macintosh computer must have: •
PowerBook, G4, iBook, or iMac
•
Intel-based processor
•
OS X 10.4 or higher
Your Linux system must have:
PolyVision
•
Ubuntu 9.10 or Fedora 11 or later
•
600 MB free disk space

PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in installation NOTE: note:
Assure that the PolyVision Driver version 2.1 or above (provided on a separate CD and available at www.polyvision.com) is installed on your computer before you install the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in. You should see the PolyVision Driver icon in system tray (Windows or Linux) or menu extras (Macintosh) of your computer.

3. Windows: double-click “My Computer” on your desktop, doubleclick the disk named “ēno™ one,” double-click the Windows folder to open it, and double-click “Setup.exe.” Installation begins. Linux: double-click the drive named “ēno™ one” that appears on your desktop; double-click the “Linux” folder, right-click “Setup” and choose “Properties”; on the “Permissions” tab, click the “Allow executing file as program” check box; click “Close”; double-click “Setup.” Installation begins. Macintosh: double-click the “ēno™ one” disk on your desktop, double-click the Macintosh folder, and double-click “PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in.mpkg.” Installation begins. 4. Follow the prompts you see on the screen to complete the installation.

When installation is complete: •
a message appears on your computer screen
•
the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in icon appears in your system tray (Windows or Linux) or menu extras (Macintosh).

The PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in runs in the background whenever your computer is on.
Configuring the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in The ēno one whiteboard can interact with the PolyVision projector when you configure the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in to identify the computer port where the projector is connected. To configure the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in: 1. Right-click the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in icon in your computer system tray (Windows or Linux) or menu extras (Macintosh).

2. Choose “Configure Projectors” from the drop down menu. You see the PolyVision Projector Control Configuration dialog shown below.
The configuration dialog provides: •
the status of the projector
•
the status of the PolyVision Driver
•
the ability to change the port associated with the projector
To configure the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in for the projector: 1. Click “Add Projector.” The projector appears in the dialog box as “Not Connected” with the Port displaying “None.” 2.
Move your cursor over the “None” link under “Port.” You see a dropdown list of available ports.
3. Select the port from the drop-down list where your projector is connected. The projector status changes to “Connected” and configuration is complete.

Changing the port for a projector If you change the computer port connected to the projector, configure the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in to match that port. To do so: 1. Right-click the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in icon in your computer system tray (Windows or Linux) or menu extras (Macintosh). 2. Choose “Configure Projectors” from the drop down menu. 3.
Move your cursor over the active link under “Port.” You see a dropdown list of available ports.
4. Select the port that is connected to your projector from the dropdown list. If you change the port from RS232 to “IP Address” or from “IP Address” to RS232, additional steps are required. To change the computer port connected to the projector from RS232 to “IP Address” or from “IP Address” to RS232: 1. Complete steps 1 through 4 above. 2. On the projector, press the “Menu” button. 3. Use the projector’s right or left arrow button to navigate to the “Installation II” screen.
4. Use the down arrow button to highlight “Advanced.”

5. Press the projector’s “Enter” button.
6. Use the down arrow to highlight “RS232.” 7. Use the right arrow button to change the setting to “RS232” or “Network” (for IP Address) to match the computer port for the projector. 8. Press the “Menu” button to exit.

Functions of the projector icon strip
Functions of the projector icon strip The magnetic projector icon strip controls various projector functions when you tap them with the ēno stylus:
On/off
Video mute
Brightness toggle between normal and eco mode

To turn on and off the projector lamp (standby mode): •
tap the On/off standby mode icon.
To toggle on and off the projected image, so you can use the ēno whiteboard for writing and drawing as well as projecting the computer: •
tap the Video mute icon.
To toggle between full brightness and eco mode, which will save bulb life: •
tap the Brightness icon.
To project the image from a different video source connected to your projector: •

tap the Input search icon. Each time you click this icon, the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in cycles to the next input source (VGA 1, VGA 2, Composite Video, S-Video, HDMI) on the projector. To return to the original video source, continue clicking until that video source appears.

Using the on-screen projector toolbar The PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in also provides an on-screen projector toolbar with the same functions as the magnetic icon strip. The on-screen projector toolbar appears in a window that you can drag to a convenient location on the whiteboard. To show or hide the on-screen projector toolbar: 1. Right-click the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in icon in your system tray (Windows or Linux) or menu extras (Macintosh). 2. Choose “Show/Hide On-screen Icon Strip” from the menu of options. To move the on-screen toolbar to a new location: •
click and drag the title bar. Title bar

Troubleshooting Status messages for the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in The PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in icon in your status bar (Windows or Linux) or menu extras (Macintosh) changes color to indicate the status of the projector. Icon
Status
Connected and operational.
Not finding the projector or port.
No projector in the system has been defined (refer to “Configuring the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in” on page 4) or cables are not connected.
To learn more details about the status of the PolyVision Driver or PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in: 1. Right-click the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in icon in your computer system tray (Windows or Linux) or menu extras (Macintosh).

2. Choose “Configure Projectors” from the drop down menu. You see the PolyVision Projector Control Configuration dialog shown below.
The status of the PolyVision Driver appears in a separate line, as follows: Status message

The PCA software is connecting to the PolyVision Driver API.
The PolyVision Driver is not running.
The PolyVision Driver is not running in the system currently.
The status of the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in appears in the Projector Configuration dialog under “Status,” as follows: Status

Troubleshooting tips Issue
Resolution Ensure that the PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in is installed. Refer to “PolyVision Driver Projector Add-in installation” on page 3. Ensure that the projector cables are firmly connected and the projector power is on.
Ensure that PolyVision Driver version 2.1 and above is installed and running.
