Position Objective
The Test Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that firmware / software developed for a product works according to specifications before it goes for production. The testing will be focused on control panel but may also include other products such as Detectors, Communicators, and Software Applications.

To ensure the product works according to internal specifications Interpret the functional standards such as EN50131 and ensure the product complies with the standards. Raise and liaise with R & D and Technical support team. To prepare test cases for the product’s features and specifications Understand field problems and form suitable test cases. Collaborate with Software Engineers to automate test Provide guidance to junior test engineers
A person who has worked in Security systems/Access/Video & Home Automation domain in the field of product testing, software testing as part of development team. Strong knowledge of testing methodologies. Expertise in Python, Shell scripting is desired. Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering (Or equivalent)
3 to 6 years Knowledge of intruder alarm, Access and CCTV products Hands on experience in working with HW detectors, Wireless detectors, ZWave Products, IP & WIFI Based Products (Camera, Communicators, etc.) Knowledge of various communication protocols such as TCP/IP, GSM, Wi-Fi, etc. Experience in setting up, wiring of various HW & Wireless devices and commissioning a system Ability to interpret the installation manual, technical specifications of a product Experience in planning Testing Activities, prepare Test Cases & Runs based on specifications Familiar with Bug Tracking and Test-case management Tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc.) Familiarity with functional standards for Security alarm systems such as EN50131, BS8243 etc. (Optional) Experience in creating scripts in Python/Shell/PHP Familiarity with Linux Environment Experience in testing of PC based applications
