Mount cabinet per mechanical dimensions and knockout locations given in Section III. 2. Connect 240VAC, 50Hz., single phase to the black and white leads of the transformer in accordance with local codes. 3. Low Volt AC Input - Connected to secondary winding of the transformer. v Fused at 15 Amps (Fuse Type AGC-15) 4. Verify output voltage at "DC Output" and "Battery" terminals. 12V system measures approximately 13.8VDC. 24V system measures approximately 27.6VDC. 5. Connect battery set to "Battery" terminals. CAUTION: Observe polarity; incorrect polarity will destroy battery fuse. Fused at 15 Amps (Fuse Type AGC-15). Recommended battery type - Power Sonic (PS Series) or YUASA (NP Series) lead acid/gel cell. WARNING: For continued protection against fire hazard, replace only with the same type and rating of fuse. 0 0 3.81 46.2 11.0 30.5 2 PLCS 35.4 6. Connect "System DC" to input of user system. System DC Outputs are Class 2 Power Limited CAUTION: Observe polarity; incorrect polarity may damage user system. Refer to Section I for Maximum Allowable System Curent. Individual outputs PTC protected: Rated at 2.5 Amps each Output 7. Visual Indicators: AC Presence LED1: Green LED System OK LED2: Green LED Tripped PTC LED3, 4: Yellow LED 8. Connect "Fault Output" to system fault annunciation. Form "C" Relay Contacts rated at 1 Amp @ 24VDC Resistive. Relay Contacts labeled in the non-operational (fault) condition. Fail-safe; active until an actual fault condition. 9. Fault Conditions: Low AC / No AC / Blown AC Fuse / High or Low Battery / Blown Battery Fuse CAUTION: Fault condition reporting may be delayed dependent on power supply loading. The battery set is NOT supervised for presence. 10. Power Supply System Draw (No AC, No load) is 50mA. 0 2.54 IV. 22.9 43.2 Typical Hook-up Diagrams AC FUSE AGC-15 FAULT LED STEP-DOWN TRANSFORMER NO TROUBLE CONTACTS AC ON LED NC C FAULT LED + - SYSTEM DC OUTPUT POWER LIMITED VERSION SHOWN + - SYSTEM DC OUTPUT POWER LIMITED VERSION SHOWN PRIMARY LEADS BLACK WHITE BATTERY CONNECTION + - SYS OK LED BATT FUSE AGC-15 PRIMARY AC CONNECT AlarmSaf 65A Industrial Way Wilmington, MA USA 01887-3499 (978) 658-6717 FAX: (978) 658-8638 Web Site: www.alarmsaf.com 52-009I 032697 Power Support System Installation Instructions V. Relay Contacts transfer to NC. 2) Green "AC ON" LED is not illuminated. * 5 Minute 5.0A Ringoff Included 3) Incorrect output voltage BATTERY CONFIGURATIONS 12 Volt Configuration 24 Volt Configuration - + + - 12 Volt Battery - + 12 Volt Battery - + 12 Volt Battery - + 12 Volt Battery Possible Cause Correction Procedure Low AC / No AC / Blown AC fuse. See Symptom 2. Low or High output. See Symptom 3. Blown battery fuse. See Symptom 4. Loss of AC power. Check AC primary supply. Blown AC fuse. Remove primary power and batteries, then replace fuse. CAUTION. Loss of transformer (xfmr) power. Check xfmr secondary voltage at PC board "Low Voltage AC Connection". If voltage is not present, replace xfmr. Defective battery. Check battery condition and replace if needed. The system load is greater than the supply capability. Remove system load and batteries; check system output voltage. If OK recheck system requirements, and/or measure output current draw with an ammeter. Incorrect battery hook-up. Rewire battery set. Incorrect or defective Measure xfmr secondary voltage. If not within xfmr. proper range, replace transformer. 4) No battery back-up + Fault Conditions { "SYS OK" Green LED extinguishes on: 1. Low AC / No AC / Blown AC Fuse 2. Low / High Battery or Output 3. Blown Battery Fuse 4. Blown Output PD Fuse 5) No relay transfer on fault Blown battery fuse. Remove primary power and batteries, then replace fuse. CAUTION. Observe polarity. Incorrect battery hook-up. Rewire battery set. Defective board Replace PC Board. For further assistance, please contact the AlarmSaf Technical Service Department.
