Requirement 1: Metal Equipment Container to Ensure Device Reliability
Metal equipment container with a lock
The environment of many elevator shafts is harsh. APs and peripheral devices must be installed in specific equipment containers, so that they can be fixed, reliable, fireproof, and theft-proof.

Elevators are sealed metal containers. When an AP is deployed in an elevator, signals attenuate seriously. External button antennas can be connected to the AP to send signals to within the elevator (antennas placed outside the equipment container). In actual tests, the final signal strength in an elevator ranges from -55 dBm to -65 dBm, delivering good transmission quality.

Huawei Wireless Elevator Solution — Wi-Fi Coverage This solution provides Wi-Fi coverage only inside an elevator and applies to renovation of traditional or old elevators. This solution only requires an AP to connect to a trailing cable through an Ethernet port, without the need of any mounting devices.

If an AP's electrical port is used: Equipment container + AP with an electrical port + O/E converter + PoE
adapter + chip antenna AP
If an AP's optical port is used:
Equipment container + AP with an optical port + power adapter + chip antenna
Recommended models: AP7110DN, AP4130DN, and AP5130DN Trailing cable Note: Most trailing cables are optical fiber cables.

Huawei Wireless Elevator Solution — Wi-Fi Coverage + Video Services + Ad Marketing Elevator shaft
For new elevators or elevators to be renovated, network devices can be used to provide functions, such as Wi-Fi coverage, video surveillance, and ad marketing, reducing elevator
Fiber
cabling costs. In this case, APs need to have multiple Ethernet ports to connect terminals such as the camera and liquid crystal
AP
display (LCD).
Wi-Fi coverage
The AP in the elevator connects to a camera, eliminating the need for cabling.
Camera
LCD
The AP in the elevator connects to an LCD to enable realtime advertisement changes and batch loading without a
USB flash drive.
