TM PowerShuttle
Technology
Efficient power system uses Ergotron’s innovative PowerShuttleTM technology (patent pending) to automatically optimize total charge time for up to 20 laptops or other electronic devices. Safely prevents overloading electrical circuits by efficiently grouping the number of devices that are charged at one time. Without PowerShuttle, the maximum number of devices would typically be 8 laptops per outlet. Never waste time charging an empty zone Our competition primarily use timers that alternate power too power strips at a set interval of time – whether a zone needs power or not. Some require manual switching of zones. LED status indicators provide users with power distribution status.

Five 12V DC continuous operation cooling fans are included – Four in the laptop compartment, One in the top compartment
TM PowerShuttle
Technology
How it works:
1. Max wall current is 12A for 100/120V countries, 10A for 220240V countries. 2. Most notebooks use 1.5A each adding up to 30A total current required just for the notebooks. This is the reason we need PowerShuttleTM. 3. When the cart is plugged in, system automatically measures and stores the current draw of the switch, the WAP, anything plugged into the external auxiliary outlets, and finally the power strips inside the cart (5 devices per power strip). 4. The measuring cycles takes 30 seconds per power strip.
TM PowerShuttle
Technology
How it works:
5. The PowerShuttleTM subtracts the current for the always-on devices (internal and external auxiliary outlets) from the max wall current. This leaves the amount of current available for the 4 power strips. Current available to zones = 12A – 1.5A - 0.5A - 1.0A = 9.0A 6. PowerShuttleTM then groups the power strips in the minimum number of groups for charging without exceeding the max wall current. Group 1 – Zone 1 + Zone 3 < 9A Group 2 – Zone 2 by itself < 9A Group 3 – Zone 4 by itself < 9A 7. The charge cycle takes 10 minutes per group. 3 groups x 10 minutes per group = 30 minutes
TM PowerShuttle
Technology
How it works: 8. When the charging cycle is complete, the current levels are rescanned. 9. PowerShuttleTM then groups the power strips in the minimum number of groups for charging without exceeding the max wall current. Group 1 – Zone 1 + Zone 2 + Zone 4 Group 2 – Zone 3 by itself
8. The charge cycle takes 10 minutes per group. 9. Charge each group for 10 minutes = 20 minutes 10. Eventually charge currents drop as devices get charged, so all devices will charge at the same time. This process continues automatically until everything is fully charged. 11. If user adds devices during a charge and the max current is exceeded, the system will stop and re-scan the current draw and create a better grouping.
Ethernet Capability Managed cart includes: Pre-installed CAT6 Ethernet cables (1Gb) enable management of laptops for software updates via Wake-On-LAN (with customer supplied Ethernet Switch). Secure top access compartment provides space and mounting brackets for customer-provided 19” (48.3 cm) 1U rack-mounted Ethernet switch and WAP equipment. Internal auxiliary outlet for Switch and WAP power. Max current 100-120V ~ 4A, 50/60Hz or 220-240V ~ 50/60Hz, 2.5A
External auxiliary outlet for other peripheral devices Max current 100-120V ~ 8A, 50/60Hz or 220-240V~ 5.5A, 50/60Hz
Unmanaged cart: Charge-only option Unmanaged carts do not include Ethernet cables, switch mounting brackets or auxiliary outlets. Unmanaged carts do not include the 4 bottom compartment cooling fans or temperature shutdown sensor circuitry as the devices run cooler during charge only cycles. Fans are not needed. Unmanaged carts can not be upgraded by the customer to a managed version
