LANSENSE MODULAR PATCH PANEL • 1 HU • EMPTY FOR 24 SNAP-IN CONNECTORS WITH CLIP-ON WITH SLIDING MECHANISM • During installation, care of LANmark-6/7 products is much more critical than when installing LANmark-5 or other Nexans Category 5e products. • The high levels of performance can only be guaranteed if the installation procedures are followed. • Special attention must be given to keep the length of untwist of the pairs. Two patch panels are available depending on the type of connector used. Please verify in the table below if the panel is suited for the connectivity to be installed. The LANmark Snap-in connector with rear cover has to be used for screened solutions in order to ensure contact between the foil of the cable and the clips of the Modular Patch Panel.

Terminate the connectors on the cables as per the Snap-in Installation Guides Snap the connectors into the Patch Panel by hooking the top of the connector under the front plate

To remove the connector : put a very small screwdriver under the connector in the hole.
Manage and dress the cables into the rack or frame, this will add to the bending radius of the cables and facilitate access to the patch panel post installation when the patch panel is closed after termination. If the cables are dressed and managed into the frame or cabinet with the patch panel closed, it is often not possible to pull the patch panel forward for access later on, due to the tightness of the cables. Keep a minimum of 35 cm distance between the front side of the patch panel and the fixing point of the cables in the cabinet or frame.

When provided, gently prepare the small LANsense I/O cable connector from the back of the patch panel to the front in the centre.
Take the front mounting plate. Connect the LANsense I/O cable connector to the connector on the back of this plate. The connector will only fit one way.
Gently slide back the Patch Panel into the rack. Close the patch panel using the black fastener clips on the front of the patch panel.

Earthing : The Patch Panel is automatically earthed if used in conjunction with the Nexans Quick Mount Cabinet. Where the patch panel is mounted onto a painted or coated frame, two additionnal earthing tags, suitable for 9 mm spade connectors, are available in the patch panel at each end of the clip-on cable guide as indicated with the arrow above. An optional earthing wire connecting the top drawer can be added with a metal screw as shown in the picture.
IMPORTANT REMARKS : It is recommended to use a patch guide for each 48 ports. The recommended patch guides are the 1HU (102.117) for all installations excluding LANmark-7 (GG45) where the 2HU (102.127) must be used. The 2HU patch guide can also be used for LANmark-6 installations if enough space is available in the rack or cabinet. NOTE : Only start testing the links or channels when the connectors are installed in the patch panel.
