Practicality - Style - Value
Welcome to the world of Greenline Following on from the successful debut of our revolutionary slide out vans, we've been busy working on a range of slightly more conventional campervans. We have developed both side galley and rear galley layouts and by using our expertise in design, we’ve again been busy innovating to give you vans with increased practicality. Take, for instance, our Rear Galley design. Although this popular layout featuring a cassette toilet is offered by a number of converters, we realised that existing designs tend to be wasteful of space when accommodating the loo... so we’ve made ours slide easily out from its storage cupboard into the centre aisle when needed, giving the comfort of the cassette toilet with the flexibility of a porta -potti. Well, it wouldn’t be a Greenline van unless something slid out!! What’s more, the wardrobe door opens to divide off the front of the van from the galley to form a private washroom.
The Greenline Difference By listening to our customers and using our experience not just as van converters but as longstanding campervan users, we build our vans full of the practical touches you’ll appreciate when camping. From major things such as maximising the storage space within our cabinets, through placing switches and controls where they are at hand, and on to little touches such as providing a hanging rail for the tea towel to dry when travelling! We select our cabinet finishes carefully to give our interiors a light, bright and airy feel, this is complimented by our standard upholstery, although the customer can choose their own upholstery design and we can offer a choice of cabinet finishes. We offer a range of popular options such as awnings, heaters and solar charging, within our layouts to help you get the van you want, we can also fit microwaves, cycle racks, and additional insulation, trim, and double glazed windows for prolonged winter camping.
The Difference is in the Detail Storage first! Where some van converters may get carried away with the latest laminates and sleek domestic style equipment and fittings, we never put style before substance. Not that there’s anything wrong with style of course but it shouldn’t be at the expense of practicality! Take, for instance the Smev glass topped hob and sink often used in conjunction with the separate Smev grill, this set up is commonplace in campervans but is very wasteful of space in the smaller van when compared to the compact hob and grill unit we favour, plus ours is made in Britain and is available with an equally compact oven. In all our designs, the fridge door can be opened with the bed set up!
For your comfort, footrests for the swivelling cab seats are fitted as standard. However, you can choose to delete these if you need extra floor space for the dog’s basket! The large bed in our Slide-out vans are supported on sprung slats for extra comfort. Additionally, in both the Slide-out and Rear galley vans where we use our own seating. you can choose the mattress foam density depending on whether you prefer a firmer or softer bed!
Map storage pockets are included if you opt to have the cab-seats re-upholstered by us. Upholstery is treated with Scotchgard™ protector.
We are guided by some simple principles: firstly, identify as much space as possible for storage: secondly, make the lockers and storage areas as large as possible; and thirdly Make the storage as flexible as possible by providing adjustable and removable shelves and large doors.
Typical of our practical little touches; in the Rear and Side galley vans, we provide a convenient place to hang your damp tea towels to dry!
Our curtains are made from a heavy gauge material or lined to keep the sunrise out on those early summer mornings. Press studs ensure they are a good and reliable fit to the window surround!
We hope you’ll never need to use it, but we fit the latest generation of non-asphyxiating, no residue fire extinguisher. Firetool - fitted as standard.
Storage space in the footrests !
Water - All of our layouts feature inboard fresh water tanks of a good size for a compact van, in the Slide-out and Rear Galley layouts in particular these are sited unobtrusively out of the way so little storage space is lost. A waste tank with an electrically operated drain valve can be specified so you can empty the tank by simply driving over the campsite drain point and flicking a switch without leaving the driving seat! Gas - In some of our designs we can offer a gas locker large enough to take a small Calor gas bottle, these are less expensive to refill and hold more gas than the Campingas alternative. Better still, on some base vehicles we can fit an under floor bulk LPG tank, not only does this free up valuable storage space inside the van, buying gas from the LPG station (these are quite common) costs less than a third of the price of bottled gas! Electricity - Our vans feature high quality and fully specified 240v AC and 12v DC electrical systems. We’re proud to use the Sargent charging and distribution system as found in many British built motorhomes. We favour the more efficient Vitrifrigo compressor fridges, although we can fit an absorption type if you intend to spend long periods off grid. We’ve also devised a way of connecting the compressor fridge to the 12v system that improves the charging rate of the leisure battery when driving. All our interior lighting is by low energy and super bright LEDs to give exceptionally good lighting. To further increase interior space we can offer under floor mounting of the leisure battery on certain base vehicles. Solar charging systems are available across our entire range of vans.
If you specify a heater, you’ll be pleased to find it’s control is within arms reach of the duvet on chilly mornings! We also incorporate a change over switch so the heater can be run from either the leisure or the vehicle battery in an emergency!
We can provide handy grab handles to ease your access to our vans.
The van’s original cargo area light is repositioned to give a useful courtesy light for the habitation door. The electrical control unit is positioned for ease of use as you leave and enter the van and also within reach of the cab seats.
Our innovative Slide-out range Elevating roof, Short or Long Wheelbase Renault Trafic - VW Transporter T5 & 6 Base
The huge advantage of the slide out design is the massive bed, 6’3” x 4’2” of comfort, that’s remarkable enough in a compact van, plus it still allows full access to all the galley facilities or the loo!, there’s even a dining area. The pod and bed can be set up and packed away with ease (andfaster than many conventional rock and roll beds) when you desire not when space dictates. Alternative seating and galley options allow you to tailor the van to your needs. From the outset the slide out has been designed to give lengthy, reliable service. The pod is robustly constructed from laminated panels of 25mm Styrofoam insulation with decorative wallboard on the inside face and a layer of tough, durable aluminium sheet on the outside. The panels are fixed to a substantial aluminium chassis, very careful attention has been paid to the design and sealing of joints to exclude water ingress, indeed, all joints are inside the main weather seal when the pod is closed. This method of construction of the pod is much lighter than if a GRP moulding were used, the pod weighs little more than the rear van doors it replaces! Aluminium can be recycled many times whereas GRP is un-recyclable. Although a highly innovative concept, the design of the slide-out pod has deliberately been kept simple and its construction robust to ensure its functionality whenever and wherever you’re camping. Weather seals prevent water ingress both when the pod is open and closed, and if its rained overnight, wiper seals remove most of the water automatically as the pod is closed. Importantly, seals, slides, etc and even the optional motor drive unit are all standard industrial components and should they ever need to be, will be replaceable many years down the road.
A Choice of Layouts To suit your needs Slide out conversions are available on SWB or LWB vans. You can then choose further options to arrive at your ideal layout. 2,3 or 4 belted travel seats, 2, 3 or 4 berths with a roof bed option. Choice of galley unit; narrower to maximise floor space or wider to house a full oven. Additional storage, bespoke trim and upholstery, heating and up-rated water systems can be specified. The Active van has been designed specifically to carry cycles in the cargo area, the left hand side door and cab seat to bed distance mean the bikes can stay in when camping overnight. The cargo area offers the flexibility for you to carry whatever you like for your work or hobbies. We can fit this out to suit your lifestyle.

Rear Galley 480 RG / 500 RG Elevating Roof or Fixed High Top - Short Wheelbase Renault - Ford - VW base The Rear Galley layout has long been a favoured layout for campervans, allowing for separate lounge and galley areas, in recent years models have been available with a cassette toilet in the rear corner, now we’ve developed this idea further. In our rear galley van the cassette toilet is stored in a locker out of the way, then slid out into the aisle when needed, the wardrobe door is opened to close off the rear area from the rest of the van, giving you the comfort of your own separate washroom in a compact van! Arranging the loo to slide out this way ensures the large storage area above it is not wasted and allows the space to fit a full height wardrobe. We have had many very positive comments for achieving a massive amount of storage space in a compact van! The lounge area features two comfortable forward facing travel seats with seat belts, 2 single berths with a centre infill cushion that turns them from singles into a large partial double. The seat behind the driver can be left flat and the centre cushion then doubles as a backrest to make a side facing sofa so you can enjoy views through the side door. In the galley you’ll find a 2 burner hob and grill with the option of an oven, or if you prefer, a glass lidded 2 burner hob and sink combination unit can be fitted. Worktop area is increased with a clip-in extension. The rear galley layout provides a huge amount of storage in a SWB van which is increased further in the high top version of this layout. The Renault Trafic is particularly suited to this, having a spacious high top with a 6’1” internal height after conversion (compared with the Ford Transit Custom which has about 5’9”)

Our robust but lightweight cabinetwork is CNC machined with edging bonded in place to give a lasting, high quality finish. The cabinet work is in our favoured Light Oak finish with a choice of finishes for the tambour doors and cupboard fronts, Likewise, there is a choice of trim and lining materials, curtain and upholstery fabrics. In the cooking department we offer a compact 2 burner hob and grill (optional oven) unit with separate sink or a 2 burner hob/sink glass top combination unit. The above is a guide to the minimum equipment and options typically fitted to all our vans, final specifications of water tanks, bed dimensions and leisure battery vary slightly according to base vehicle,
Base Vehicles We can build on a number of different base vans, you may well have your own reasons for preferring one particular van over another, but do read on as we’ve made some observations below that you may find useful. Our over-riding approach to base vehicles is that we don’t favour one over another unless it significantly benefits our conversion - usually this means favourable dimensions. Our conversions are designed specifically for ‘compact’ vans, these are typically 5m in length (SWB), 1.9m in width with gross weights of 2.8 - 3.2 tonnes. Some of our designs are available for LWB and High Roof variants of these. The choice of a new van is mostly between Renault Trafic (Vauxhall Vivaro and Fiat Talento are virtually identical, the Renault has a 4yr warranty to the others 3), VW Transporter (3yr warranty), or Ford Transit Custom (3yr warranty) - which is a slightly bigger van all round. We can also convert the new Mercedes Vito now it has greatly improved corrosion protection. The newly introduced Peugeot Expert (Citroen Dispatch and Toyota Proace virtually identical) offers a slightly smaller option. Many prefer the Transporter as a base for a compact camper, and if you wish to attend the many VW van events it is of course obligatory. They can be a little more expensive than other vans, and this difference in cost increases when additional equipment is added, for instance, all current vans except the Transporter have a 6 speed gearbox as standard for relaxed high speed cruising, if you want 6 speeds on your VW you will have to pay extra not just for the gearbox but also increased engine power output. The Trafic has a longer warranty and gives a more spacious interior after conversion, we only fit elevating roofs that take advantage of the Trafic’s much wider roof opening - not all converters do this! High roof vans - the Transporter is available with a factory high top in LWB only, the Transit Custom and Trafic in both SWB and LWB. The Ford has a serious shortcoming as a high top though as it only has a headroom of about 5’8” after conversion against the Renault’s 6’1”. After market high tops can be fitted to some vans but this does add expense. At present only the Transporter is available with an automatic gearbox. We are sometimes perplexed at shows by people insisting that their campervan must be under 2m high to fit under the height barrier at their local supermarket. Most of the base vans in this category are very slightly less than 2m but when the elevating roof is fitted they are around the 2.05m mark. Now we can understand if you need to pass under a 2m obstacle to park securely at home or work but we are concerned by this for 2 reasons: Firstly we get the impression that many think 2m is some sort of standard for height barriers, there is no such thing! Where height barriers are used many are higher than 2m and conversely in many a multi storey car park they can be lower. Secondly, we have to ask when spending what is a considerable sum of money on a leisure vehicle would it not be better to use a different supermarket than severely restricting your choice of van in this way?
Conversions to used vans We can convert second hand versions of many of the above vans, including the pre 2015 Trafic and Transporter T5. This can be a good way to make savings, the Renault, in particular, is excellent value not just because of its cost but it will also have the balance of its 4 yr warranty. A note of caution, allow for additional costs if you require a single passenger cab seat and the majority of vans will only have a driver’s airbag. Our conversion work to both new and used vans carries a 2 yr warranty.
We are moving to new, larger premises later in the year, please phone before travelling. Full details will appear on our Website and Facebook page shortly.

Important Notes on Prices and Specifications. New Vans: Prices quoted are for the manufacturers base models, in the case of the Renault this is for the 95 hp engine, 6 speed gearbox with ‘Business’ equipment level with free metallic paint. The base VW has 84hp, 5 speed box with ’Startline’ equipment level. 6 speed gearboxes in the VW are only available with the 150hp engine (and upwards) which adds £3,000 to the cost, metallic paint is a £600 option. A range topping Trafic Sport with 145hp engine adds £4800 to the Renault base price shown. The equivalent 150hp Transporter Highline in metallic paint adds £6500 to the respective VW base price. At present, if you want an automatic gearbox the VW is the only choice (the older model Trafic was available as an auto and used versions are available), this along with the 150hp engine will add £4,800 to the VW base price.
Important notes on beds: In Rear Galley conversions to the Renault Trafic we use our own design of seating for the rear seat/beds. All versions of the Trafic have upper seat belt mounting points in the van body shell which allows us to comply with the safety regulations covering seatbelt anchorages. Some other makes of van, the VW in particular, do not have these mountings so we use a pair of RIB single seat/beds with integral seat belts. This does give you the excellent seating ergonomics that are a feature of RIB seats, but the seat frames are bulkier and they do add £1500 to the cost of the conversion compared to using our own seats (this is included in the VW pricing overleaf). We can fit the single RIB seats to the Trafic if you prefer them. In Side Galley we fit different types of Rock and Roll beds depending on your requirements and budget. In our Standard specification vans we fit one of the British made beds, these are single sided so you sleep on the same side of the cushions you sit on. In the S.E. Specification vans, we fit the more expensive French made RIB bed, this is double sided with cushions ergonomically shaped for sitting on as a seat, these flip over to make a flat bed. We can fit a sliding seat floor rail system to most base vehicles at additional cost, this allows the entire seat along with its base to be re-positioned along the length of the cargo area from the rear doors to the fridge. We use the Riemo Variotech system, as with the RIB bed, this has ergonomically shaped cushions which flip over to make a flat bed. For your reassurance, all of the different types of seating systems we fit to our vans are fitted with head restraints and seat belts that comply with current safety regulations and the seats are installed in the van to comply with these regulations.
Used vans: Vans around the 2 year old mark with up to 25,000 miles are ideal for conversion, savings of up to £4,000 from the cost new are likely. Vans up to 3 years old (4 in the case of a Renault) will have the balance of the manufacturers warranty which is transferable and mostly unaffected by conversion work. One note of caution is when you wish to sell on your van, the market is likely to value the whole package by the age of the van, with little allowance for the younger conversion. So, unless you intend to keep the van for a long time, a large difference between the age of the van and its conversion does not make good economic sense! We don’t add a large ‘mark-up’ on vans we source but we may need to add a little to cover the costs of collecting the van and items such as servicing or new tyres as may be necessary with vans of this age. Virtually all second hand vans will have a double passenger cab seat fitted, swivels are available for most of these. Allow for the additional costs of sourcing a drivers seat from a breakers yard for use as the single passenger seat if you want this, unless we’re extremely lucky this will need repair or recovering so allow for this too! You will also be lucky to find a used van with a passenger airbag. Conversions to used models of the post 2015 Trafic cost £750 more than the base price quoted overleaf due to the increased cost of some of the parts we need to buy in. Mention should be made of glazing; we can fit either standard tinted glass that matches the cab windows or the heavily tinted privacy glass. The costs for either of these glazing types for the pre 2015 Trafic are similar and are included in the standard conversion cost. For the post 2015 Trafic, only the privacy glass option is included in the standard conversion cost, Renault’s standard glass is substantially more expensive and adds about £1200 to the cost of converting the newer Trafic!
