PRE-PROGRAMME DES CONFÉRENCES 2017 SPEAKERS | LES INTERVENANTS Georges COMTE, Astronomer - Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille Georges Comte, born in 1947, has devoted most of his career to observational astrophysics, especially on nearby galaxies, from giant spirals to dwarf magellanic objects. His main interests have been focussed on their gaseous content ionized by hot young massive stars, their stellar formation rate, the spiral structure traced by the ionized hydrogen regions, the element abundances in the warm gas phase of their interstellar medium. He has also devoted a large amount of time to image and spectra processing and, since 2008, has been involved in massive spectroscopic processing and calibration through a collaboration with Chinese astronomers in the LAMOST project. His current interests are now aimed at very low mass and « cold » stars of M dwarf and subdwarf classes. He has been director of the former Marseille Observatory in 1995 – 2000.
Dee DENTENEER, Secretary General – Zhaga Consortium Dee Denteneer is the Secretary General of the Zhaga Consortium. He has held positions at the University of Utrecht, the Statistical Office of the Netherlands, and Philips Research. He has a PhD in mathematics, and a background in wireless connectivity, lighting, project and program management, and finance. Currently, he is Director of Standards at Philips Lighting in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, focussing on strategy and governance in industry alliances. Alongside his position in the Zhaga Consortium, Dee is Technical Working Group Chair of the Fairhair Alliance, and a non-executive member of the Board of the Philips Pension Fund.
Peter BENNICH, Expert - THE SWEDISH ENERGY AGENCY Peter Bennich (b 1963) studied at the University of Uppsala, Sweden, where he received a PhD in surface science (physics) in 1996. After two years as lecturer at the Mid Sweden University, teaching courses in physics and electronics, he moved on to the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), working with projects on power electronic based components in the electrical grid. He also worked as program manager for projects on distributed generation (wind power in particular). Since 2002 Dr Bennich has been working with energy policies within the Swedish government, focussing on energy efficiency. In his present position at the Swedish energy agency, he is working with the EU directives on ecodesign (minimum energy performance standards) and energy labelling. He is covering the work on the lighting regulations in particular. Since October 2011 he is the Management Committee chair of the Solid State Lighting annex (SSL annex), part of the IEA Technology Cooperation Programme on Energy Efficient End-use Equipment (4E). Matthias KASSNER, Product marketing Manager – ENOCEAN GMBH Matthias Kassner is Product Marketing Director at EnOcean. In this role, he and his team are responsible for defining highly innovative future EnOcean products and the product marketing activities for the current portfolio. Before joining EnOcean, Matthias worked 12 years at Texas Instruments (TI) in various positions ranging from Wireless Field Application Engineer to EMEA Product Marketing Manager for TI’s Application Processor Platform which was used in a wide range of products including tablets, eReaders, smartphones, home automation controllers, robots, watches, smart glasses and even one of the world’s smallest wireless TV cameras. Matthias holds the degree of Diplom Ingenieur in Electrical Engineering from Technical University Ilmenau.
Fabien MEDAT, IOT Lead - CISCO In my current role, I lead the IOT Business and the French Unified Communications & Collaboration consulting team for Cisco in France, As a team, we are responsible for business development, customer engagement, partner enablement, service creation and Business Units relationships in order to provide sales & technical support. We, as a team, are responsible for supporting key opportunities, promoting our solutions (partners, customers, consulting firms, press), and developing new partner offers through service creation activities. Throughout my professional career at Cisco I've been passionate about developing unified communications solutions and enjoy my role leading teams delivering these solutions to the market. As a Unified Communications & Collaboration veteran (since 1999), I’m driven by curiosity and interested in being an actor in market transitions such as VoIP to ToIP, to IP Communications, to Unified Communications including video to Collaboration. After my engineering school, I started to work for Cisco as an intern in Unified Communications in 1999. I achieved CCIE R&S certification in 2001. Since then, I have been working in various pre-sales & consulting positions in companies delivering Networking and Unified Communications technology. In 2007, I was recruited as a channel System Engineer, then Consulting System Engineer one year later. In 2010, I was appointed as a Collaboration CTO for EMEAR south Theatre then Manager of the French Collaboration consulting team since 2011. Since 2016, I also lead the IOT (Internet of Things) Business Unit.
Edouard LEBRUN, Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Business Unit "Interactive Technologies“ - LUCIBEL A graduate of Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Tours (ESCEM), Edouard Lebrun began his career in international logistics at Tramar (2009) in China before joining Lucibel Group in January 2010. He started by implementing the supply chain, then he dealt with the integration of Lucibel acquisitions and several external growth projects and innovation programs. In 2015, he became co-founder and General Manager of SLMS (Schneider Lucibel Managed Services). Then, Edouard is named Chief Innovations at the beginning of 2016, in order to manage the launch of Lucibel LiFi technology on the market. In 2017, he is named Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Business Unit "Interactive Technologies".
Alistair Banham, CEO - pureLiFi Alistair Banham is a global semiconductor industry veteran, with more than 30 years’ experience leading international business units. Prior to taking up the role as CEO at pureLiFi Alistair was Senior Vice President & GM of Customer Solutions Business Unit at Wolfson Microelectronics. At Wolfson Alistair was responsible for chip development, mobile systems strategy and driving strong engagement with tier 1 global accounts Previously he held roles as SVP & General Manager EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) at Philips Semiconductors. Alistair was a founding member and President & GM EMEA of ON Semiconductor and played a leading role in the spin out from Motorola semiconductor and subsequent IPO. During his time in the semiconductor industries, Alistair has been based out of key technology hubs from silicon valley (California) through to ASIA. Alistair brings an element of skill to pureLiFi that will lead innovation and release new products to drive increased adoption with our global customers and key growth markets.

François DE BUYL, TSD Lighting, Dow Corning Europe s.a I joined Dow Corning in June 1991 with a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry from University of Brussels, Belgium, followed with a Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Materials Technology from University of Surrey, Guildford, UK. From June 1991 to May 2004, I have strengthened technical skills in formulating, compounding and developing applications for silicone sealants and adhesives for customers in the construction, automotive and electronic industry. Field of expertise in curing mechanisms, polymer science, reinforcement, adhesion, and silicone sealant applications. From May 2004 to Dec 2011, I worked on technology development for plastics and rubbers applications, which encompassed essentially filler treatment and composites reinforcement, cross-linking based on organo-silicon chemistry, design of interfaces and adhesion sciences. Since Jan 2012 up to date, I am senior application engineer responsible to help customers in LED lighting industry, using the benefits of silicone based materials for their applications in lamps and luminaires design and fabrication. Recent skills developed in the fields of optical moldable silicone, thermal interface materials, and adhesives for lighting fixtures protection and assembly.
Fred BASS - Managing Director, Neonlite International Ltd Fred brings more than 25 years of lighting experience to his role as one of the Directors of Neonlite, the brand owner of MEGAMAN®. Fred is responsible for strengthening the company's business development and leading the sales and marketing strategies for the world's leading energy-saving products. Fred's passion and expertise for lighting has gained him recognition as a specialist in the industry. His interest was first instilled at a young age by his father who as an architect, taught him how to use light and space to define the built environment. Since then, Fred has had experience with many types of lighting including lamp making, stage lighting and professional lighting in both exterior & interior applications. His passion in lighting comes from working with designers and helping them to realize their vision. He finds the challenge of balancing high quality lighting with low energy sources invigorating which continues to inspire his longstanding career in the lighting industry. Prior to joining Neonlite, Fred held senior positions in many lighting companies including Group Product Marketing and R&D Director at Sylvania Lighting International Ltd where he was responsible for directing the design and development of fixture product across the group. Fred graduated in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Leeds Beckett University in 1981.
Jean GAUDEMER, Ingénieur - LNE (Laboratoire national de métrologie et d'essais) Jean Gaudemer est actuellement responsable des essais du département Photonique 321 du LNE (Direction de la Métrologie Scientifique et Industrielle, Pole Photonique et énergétique). Les essais portent sur les produits d'éclairage général et spécifiques, les produits de signalisation automobile routière, ferroviaire, du bâtiment… Il a été fortement impliqué dans la métrologie Optique pour avoir été responsable d'un centre d'étalonnage pendant une dizaine d'années. Il est évaluateur technique pour le COFRAC et participe à plusieurs comites de normalisation, dont le comité 34 lampes et luminaires de l'AFNOR, le comité CN05 du bureau de normalisation Transport, Routes et Aménagements.
Tony MAINDRON – Scientist (Senior)/Scientifique - CEA LETI Tony Maindron received his doctoral degree (PhD) in Materials Science from INRS, in 2002, a governmental Research institution located in Montréal (Canada). His research aimed at developing OLED architecture based on the use of new organic semiconductors that emit in the blue and the use of new electron transporting molecules. Following this he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at INRS to develop hybrid solution/evaporation OLED. He then worked one year in the Canadian company Nova-Plasma Inc. (Montréal, QC, CANADA) where he was a research engineer responsible for characterizing defects in thin barriers developed by the company. Back in France in 2004, he worked one year at the CEA research center in Saclay. He then joined Thomson R & D France in Rennes where he was an engineer for the development of displays incorporating OLED technology. Since the former OLED business of Thomson R & D was transferred to CEA-LETI end of 2006, he joined the CEA-LETI Display Technology Laboratory where he has been developing innovative thin film encapsulation for OLED-on-CMOS and acts as a project leader in different national funded as well as EU funded projects.

Abdallah OUGAZZADEN, Director / Directeur - GEORGIA TECH LORRAINE Professor at ECE School at Georgia Institute of Technology, Director of the Joint International Research Lab GT-CNRS, Director of Georgia Tech Lorraine, The European Campus of GIT, Co-President of Lafayette Institute, the platform of technology transfer. He worked in R&D as senior researcher and group leader at France Telecom for more than 8 years and one year at Optoplus/Alcaltel (France) as Manager of Optoelectronic Materials Group. In 1999, he joined Bell-Labs at Lucent Technologies (USA), as Epitaxy and materials characterization Manager for Optical Fiber Communication. He kept this position with the company Agere Systems, and then he worked as R&D and Fab Manager at TriQuint Semiconductor (USA). Dr. Ougazzaden joined the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2005. His current research activity is in the field of wide bandgap semiconductors and related devices. He has authored more than 400 international scientific papers and communications and holds 23 patents.
David SOTTA, Product Manager / Chef produit - SOITEC David Sotta is product manager at Soitec a leader company in electronics which designs and manufactures innovative semiconductor materials for making circuits. David worked 10 years at Soitec and occupied various positions such as expert in GaN smart-cut, process leader and integration manager. David is now responsible of non-silicon substrate for RF, photonics and LED applications. In particular he is focusing efforts in promoting an innovative substrate for full green and red InGaN LED. Before joining Soitec David worked 4 years at ST_Microelectronics as procees manager in ion implantation. He hold the degree of Engineer in the Ecole Supérieure de Physique de Strasbourg and his Ph degree in Physics at University Fourier of Grenoble.
Leslie LYONS, Head of Global Sales and Marketing - BENTHAM INSTRUMENTS LIMITED / TRIOPTICS Leslie Lyons est responsable commercial et marketing chez Bentham Instruments Limited, Reading (Royaume-Uni). Diplômé d’un MPhys (Heriot-Watt University, Edimbourg/ Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Physique de Marseille), il a dixsept ans d’expérience dans le domaine de l’optique et de la photonique. Il s’implique activement dans le développement des normes liées à la sécurité photobiologique, étant membre des comités IEC / BS TC 76 “Sécurité des rayonnements optiques et matériels laser”, BSI CH/172/6, “Instruments ophthalmiques” et IEC TC34 “Lampes et équipements associés”.
Benoit BATAILLOU, Sr Consultant - PI LIGHTING B.Bataillou obtained his PhD in 2004. Passionate about new technologies, he joined Philips in 2006, and quickly started on LED technologies. From 2007 to 2014 he authored 20 patents and developped some key technologies in LED applications. Since 2014 he cofounded Pi Lighting, an advanced technology consulting firm based in Sion, Switzerland. Our mission is to make complex problems understandable for our customers, and we reach fields such as colorimetry, health and well being, VLC, advanced statistics, big data and Machine Learning for production support. We are a swiss army knife for our partners in the technical world.

Whilk GONCALVES, Head of innovation on Lighting - PSA GROUP Whilk GONÇALVES was graduated in physics in 1988, with a M.Sc. degree in optics and paramagnetic resonance (1990) and a PhD in solid state physics in 1996. In 1998 he joined the VALEO group, responsible for the optical design of headlamps and rear lamps, optical simulation and advanced research projects as an Expert in Optics. In 2011, Dr. Gonçalves joined the PSA Group, as the Head of innovation on interior and exterior lighting at the DRIA – Department of Research and Advance Engineering, responsible for the technological roadmap on lighting and the validation of new technologies and for the integration on PSA car projects.

He’sstartedhiscareerataJapanesecarmanufacturertakingcareofgenuineaftermarketpartsdevelopment.Helater joined Autoliv to step into BtoB Account Management mainly focused on platform projects involving multi region organizations and looking for modular products. Roch finallyjoinedEFIAutomotivein2014tosupportbusinessdevelopmentwithFrenchOEM’s.WhenEFILighting was settled end 2015, Roch offered to lead the business development of the newly born JV to promote luminous textiles within Automotive.
