Precision Fastening Sequence Recognition System • Assures process conformity in screw fastening assemblies • Designed to prevent errors and product defects before they are made • Incorporates infrared camera technology to detect the position of the handheld tool and monitor fastener tightening sequence • Provides feedback to disable or enable the handheld tool based upon preprogrammed characteristics for proper fastener tightening sequence • Integrate with the ASG X-PAQ™ Precision Fastening System to help control manufacturing processes by ensuring that proper torque, sequence and revolution tolerance is achieved Shown fully integrated with the ASG X-PAQ™ System and other optional equipment. The solution for applications requiring uniform compression of all components within your product assembly. The ASG Sequence Recognition System is designed for integration with the X-PAQ™ Precision Fastening System (closed-loop controlled transducerized DC electric screwdriver and controller) to ensure: The ASG SRS ensures that the operator installs fasteners in a specific preprogrammed sequence. Assure process confirmity the smart way! • Complete assembly fastening • Correct position of the fastening device • Fastener installation in the proper sequence ASG Precision Fastening Sequence Recognition System Key Features and Information Infrared camera technology: The IR camera detects the position of the handheld tool, moitors fastener tightening sequence and minimizes the effects of workstation lighting on the assembly process. Multiple assembly sequence storage capability: Provides outstanding process flexibility for multiple assemblies at a single workstation (high mix/low volume). Tight center to center distances: Allows the ability to discern between fasteners with 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) center to center distances and greater. Workstation controls integration capability: Allows further process control using workstation clamping, signal lights, bar code readers, etc. Manual or automatic part change recognition capability: System detects and compensates for the position of the part relative to the IR camera’s detection of a specific fixed point on the workstation reduces the need for part fixturing (user set-up and fixed point details required for recognition). Visit www.asg-jergens.com and submit your Application Analysis to begin the quote process. Single sensor mounted high above operator work envelope: Similar products incorporate several sensors mounted along the torque arm. The SRS single sensor mounted outside the operator work envelope eliminates the risk of accidental damage and wear and tear due to exposure to operator movement. Every SRS system must be specified according to custom application requirements. IR camera is mounted above the operator outside of the operator work envelope. Model Number Typical SRS Components ASG-SRS-SY Standard Infra Red Vision Camera & Software, Basic PLC Program, I/O Cable, Ethernet Cable, 24VDC Power Supply, PLC & Power Supply Enclosure Example Assembly Incorporating the ASG SRS Step 1: Part is inserted into workstation fixture (clamps close). 1 2 4 3 Step 2: Fasteners are tightened to 1 N.m at 4 locations. Step 3: Batch complete signals finished part (clamps open). Quality Certified ISO 9001:2008 ASG, Division of Jergens, Inc. Jergens Way, 15700 S.
