PRELIMINARY NuPower™ Power Amplifier Linearizer Module (PALM) Features  2200 to 2600 MHz  Miniature Form Factor  25 kHz to 60 MHz Input Signal Bandwidth  3.5 W Power Consumption  Up to 14 dB Adjacent Channel Power Rejection Improvement  Adaptive Correction  Supports High Peak-toAverage Power Ratio Waveforms — OFDM, QAM, DVB-T P/N: PALM-2200-2600 NuWaves’ Power Amplifier Linearizer Module (PALM) is designed to seamlessly pair with a commercial-off-theshelf high-efficiency PA to enable the transmission of high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) signals, such as OFDM and high order QAM, with less distortion and minimal power back-off. This fully adaptive linearizer solution employs the latest RF predistortion techniques and packages it into a miniature form factor. Covering 2200 MHz to 2600 MHz, the PALM is ideal for use with Sband communications applications, such as DVB-T video transmissions. PALM works well linearizing PAs regardless of their topology (e.g. class A, AB, and Doherty) or device technology (e.g. GaN, GaAs, LDMOS). The typical improvement in adjacent channel power rejection (shoulder level) is 3 to 14 dB, depending on the modulation, power back-off and signal bandwidth. The PALM features a wide supply voltage range, broad RF input signal level support, and an internal coupler for sampling the output of the PA. With a power consumption of 3.5 watts and miniature size (3” x 2” x 0.5”), the PALM module adds little overhead to battery operated systems and is well suited for compact installations.
