TMI DIGITAL ART BUILDING A STOP MOTION ANIMATION IN ADOBE PREMIERE PRO 1. Open Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5. Choose New Project. 2. Under Capture Format, select HDV. 3. Under location, choose your external drive. Make sure that your stop motion frames and any audio files you plan to use are located on your drive under your Project 5 Stop Motion folder. Save your new project here. 4. Name your project lastname_firstname_stop_motion_final. 5. Then in the next window select (HDV Folder>HDV 1080p24). 6. Now your Premiere editing workspace will appear. First, navigate to the top menu. Select PREMIERE PRO > PREFERENCES > GENERAL. Set your STILL IMAGE DEFAULT DURATION to 2. 7. In the top left window/box > right click and choose add new bin > Add a separate bin for video/audio/titles. 8. Double click video bin. 9. In new window, double click or right click and select import media. 10. Make sure to have your images in their own folder batch renamed in a sequence from (1 to whatever). This is very important—do not skip this step! 11. Navigate to these images then select all and import. Close the pop up window. 12. Make sure to have all images selected in the video bin then drag them onto your timeline. 13. From here you can COMMAND click+drag a file to change the length without overwriting or changing your other files. OR you can select one or more files, right click, then change duration. Make sure to check the bottom box that says Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailing Clips. 14. You can then bring in audio by repeating steps 8-12 within your audio bin. Change the audio levels with the golden levels line. Click and drag up to increase volume, click and drag down to decrease volume. 15. To cut the audio up and move it around, bring it down to AUDIO 2 then use the RAZOR tool to cut the parts you need. Then change back to the MOVE tool to move them around
 16. When you are done, make sure your audio end point matches your video end point.
 17. To add a title sequence, navigate to TITLE>NEW TITLE>DEFAULT STILL. Make sure that your width and height setting are correct and choose OK. Then, a title window will appear and you can add text and change text attributes. When you are finished, close the window. In your Project Bin on the top left, you will see your title. Move it to your TITLES bin, and then drag it onto your timeline into the VIDEO 2 track. 18. When you are finished and ready to turn in your project, you must EXPORT it to a .mov file. 
 19. To export:
 Navigate to File > Export > Media > 
 Format: Quicktime
 Page 1 ! of 2 ! Preset: Custom
 
 In the VIDEO TAB:
 Video Codec: H.264
 Quality: 100
 Make sure your width/height match your images
 Frame Rate: 23.976
 Aspect: D1/DV NTSC Widescreen 16:9
 
 In the AUDIO TAB:
 Audio Codec: AAC
 
 Then Near the top where it says “Output Name:”
 Click on the gold name to rename the output file and select its location.
 20. Lastly, click “EXPORT.” It will take some time for your video to export. Make sure to give yourself enough time for this. Page 2 ! of 2 !
