Presenter notes COMMENTS ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: Dear ambassadors, To support you in teaching others to use TouchCast, we’ve prepared a guide on how to create a presentation for you, the ambassadors. The goal of this document is to help you to construct your presentation through sharing our insights from our experience presenting. In addition, we are trying to ingrain unified workflows and terminology among our users. You may use these slides as they are or adjust them as you see fit. If you have the ability to reflect your iPad on a big screen, you should do so as it is better than using our screenshots. While we’d like you use our guidelines, it is important that you share your personal experience and examples, as they will be most impactful. So, here is a little about our experience - having a green screen in our presentations always increased the engagement and excitement levels of the audience. When we started asking the audience to participate in the demos, they liked it even better. The resulting amusement and laughter took over the room and participants wanted to start creating their own examples. From there, we added a guided activity, brought a few extra green screen stations, and allowed our audience to play with the iPads. They were excited about learning to use a robust tool in such a short amount of time. These slides are for your own use only. Please don’t forward them to other users without asking for our approval first. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions, TouchCast Edu Team Presenter notes TYPES OF PRESENTATIONS: This presentation comes in handy when you are holding one of the following training sessions. 1. BYOD workshops - when participants can learn and interact with the TouchCast iPad Studio App during the session. 1. An introduction session - a 30-60 minute presentation that allows enough time to show what TouchCast is and to demonstrate the various features of the platform. 1. Training sessions for small groups - even if you don’t intend on presenting in front of a large group or using a screen for your presentation, this document can give you guidelines to help make your presentation flow better. This document has all the proper TouchCast terminology and will help you follow the best practices. In all types of presentations, you should include and highlight your own personal experiences and examples of using TouchCast. Let’s start ! TEACHER’S PRESENTATION What is TouchCast? TouchCast Uses in Education/ Before we start... TouchCast is: ● an iPad App ● a free authoring tool And it can be download in the App Store https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/touchcaststudio-annotate/id603258418?mt=8 COMMENTS ABOUT SLIDE 9: Before we start It is important to mention at this point that the app works differently on older iPads. The main differences between iPads are: - Older iPads do not support “video import” (now called “annotate a video”) - iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad mini first generation do not support “video import”/“annotate a video” features - iPad 4, iPad mini Retina and newer support “video import”/“annotate a video” features (This includes video backgrounds, “add vApps” and “edit vApps” in editor) - iPad Air and newer support the Multi-Camera feature (using the TouchCast External Camera app) Remember, it is important to update your TouchCast app and your iOS when updates are made available. TouchCast Uses in Education/ Step by step basic workflow Step 1 Plan your TouchCast On a planning sheet write your script, which includes: narration in the teleprompter, vApps-to-be-added, whiteboard interactions, etc. Step 2 Preparation before recording Paste or type the narration into the teleprompter. Bring vApps into the vApp tray. Pick your background/s, if using a green screen. Prepare titles and whiteboards. Step 3 Record your clips Tap the record and pause button to create clips. Add your vApps, whiteboards, titles and effects after pausing the recording. Step 4 Edit your TouchCast video Your clips can be edited, trimmed, duplicated, or deleted. Step 5 Export and Publish When you are done, export your TouchCast and publish it to your channel. You can also choose to save it locally on your iPad. TouchCast Uses in Education/ An alternative workflow for iPad 4 and faster using “annotate a video” Step 1 Plan your TouchCast On a planning sheet write your script, which includes: narration in the teleprompter, vApps-to-be-added, whiteboard interactions, etc. Step 2 Preparation before recording Paste or type the narration into the teleprompter. Bring vApps into the vApp tray. Pick your background/s, if using a green screen. Prepare titles and whiteboards. Step 3 Record your clips Tap the record and pause buttons to create clips. Create only pure clips, which are clips with no vApps. Step 4 Edit your TouchCast video. Your clips can be edited, trimmed, duplicated or deleted. You can now “add vApps” to pure clips (clips with no vApps) and re-record them in the Studio with the vApps. You may also add titles, whiteboards and effects at this point. You can import videos from different resources or a previous project or you can go back to the studio and record more. Step 5 Export and Publish When you are done, export your touchcast and publish it to your channel. You can also choose to save it locally on your iPad. STEP 1 / PLANNING YOUR TouchCast Things to consider when planning your narrative with TouchCast: ● Script (teleprompter) ● Background (green screen) ● Highlight (whiteboard or titles) ● The supplemental materials (vApps) you would like to include (a web-page, images, pdfs videos). ● What type of interactivity you would like to promote. Different vApps allow different type of interactivity (view only, download or feedback) TouchCast RESOURSES/ PLAN YOUR TouchCast VIDEO URL:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n_eciZ63-glfmqTQMjnJ5g64JkebndhB9XtBwDBkgDo/edit Main Features: Teleprompter, Whiteboard and vApps Control the setting of your cameras and the teleprompter in this panel.
