POWER INSTINCT Energy-Power: Instinct, Desire, Demand EP, Energy-Power, the new amplifier line, is the perfect balance between original design, high performance and market competitiveness: the result is a product with the highest quality / value ratio available in the entry-level segment of the car audio electronics market. The know-how acquired with the development of the reference HP, Hi-Power line, as well as the continued research carried out by the Elettromedia R&D Division made the creation of the Energy-Power line possible; boasting care for accurate design, build quality and performance superior to traditional products. With the new Energy-Power amplifiers, you can now enjoy the pleasure of listening to hi-fidelity music in your car, with an entry-level product offering solutions usually reserved for reference products costing much more. Energy-Power: quenching the desire for engaging, dynamic sound in your own car now becomes instinctive. Original in terms of… …Design Inspired by the HP, Hi-Power series design, the new EP, Energy-Power line, exhibits a fresh, hi-tech look. Without presenting an overstated look, the design mirrors the project philosophy: accuracy, precision and functionality. Differing from other products within the same market range, it is not predictable, aggressive or approximate: EP is a brilliant line, both from an aesthetic and musical standpoint. The extruded aluminium heatsink conveys a strong hi-tech connotation, thanks to its anthracite mineral finish. The heatsink ends feature silver colour terminal raccords which add to its solidity and conceal the connection points, allowing a clean installation. The solid aluminium Hertz logo and model name feature a diamond cut finish, a treatment originally found in the reference HP, Hi-Power line. …Performance and Reliability The Energy-Power electronics project is based upon two fundamental aspects: performance and reliability. Every electronic and mechanical component has been studied and selected to perfectly fit within the original project target. Dual-layer FR-4 printed circuit boards, solid copper bars for high current transfer and 105°C capacitors are only some of the strategic choices the Elettromedia R&D team has made. EP is the definite answer to those who want to make the most of every install situation and look to power and hi-fi sound reproduction regardless of musical genre. …Affordability The Energy-Power amplifiers are perfect for those who want to step into the car stereo world through a product of excellence; coming from a company whose know-how and tradition have been acknowledged by experts from the world over. With the EP line, Elettromedia introduces a product conceived for those who look for a competitive amplifier offering top-level performance and state-of-the-art design. The EP, amplifiers offer the opportunity to enjoy a powerful, clean sound with an extremely advantageous product. 04 Elevated performance POWER INSTINCT High Value Electronics EP, Energy-Power series, project is based on FR-4 material double layer 70µm thickness PCBs. Double layer PCB allows shorter audio paths and for that best performances in terms of S/N Ratio and signal integrity. FR-4 material 70µm copper thickness ensures high reliability along the time and in combination with robust copper bars where needed in the power supply zones guarantees high current transfers keeping low the inside working temperature. SANKEN high current capability bipolar transistors in TO3P package are employed in EP 2 X, EP 2, EP 4 X, EP 4 and EP 5, meanwhile EP 1 D output stage is based on 44A current/380W power dissipation each rated TO-247 Power mosfets. Low loss multi-winding toroidal core transformers increase the efficiency and current capability of power supply stage through with two transformers on EP 2 X, EP 4 X, EP 1 D and EP 5. Low ESR 105°C high temperature electrolytic capacitors ensure optimal transient current response and performances over any load conditions. EP IN Energy-Power series features special pseudo-balanced dual input circuitry to reject electromagnetic disturbances detected on the RCA or Speaker level inputs. ARTTM, Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off circuitry eliminates the need for a remote signal when using Speaker-In input automatically turning on and off the amplifier when the source is turned on and off. ARTTM provides also a Remote Out signal at the Remote In terminal to turn on/off other components installed in the system. EP series offers the possibility to be interfaced with traditional pre-amplified sources or speaker level OEM sources. A small size cabled connector is provided to wire in comfort and safety the Speaker-In input. On EP 1 D a pre-amplified signal is available from Speaker-In input at the Pre-Out RCAs to be sent to the rest of the amplifiers in the system. 05 POWER INSTINCT Thermal System Anthracite mineral heatsink finish is given by a hi-tech scratchproof painting. Besides high resistance to different kind of substances and environmental situations this special painting increases also the heat transfer between amplifier heatsink and air. Special steel springs are used to fix power devices on the heatsink and provide them the best cooling. The features of this spring is to split its pression between both the devices in order to apply proper pressure to each device avoiding potential imperfect contacts between the devices and the heatsink. Thanks to this detail the thermal efficiency is increased and power devices can work with lower average temperatures. Synchro D-Class EP 1 D is based on a Synchro D-Class technology where the Output Stage PWM Driver Module generates its own digital clock (80k Hz) and generates also the Power Supply PWM Driver clock in order to synchronize both the stages avoiding noise generation inside the audio band. The Synchro D-Class technology allows to achieve the extremely high Signal To Noise Ratio of 100dBA on EP 1 D. Synchro D-Class technology also features a different feedback point from traditional Class-D designs because the feedback signal is taken after the output filter. This results in a better control on the subwoofer speaker’s cone and faster transient response thanks also to the total capacitance of the power supply that amounts to more than 17.000µF for a true 1 kW RMS mono power amplifier. EP LINK EP LINK provides the ability to set two EP 1 D into a bridged mode to achieve up to 1700W (RMS) into 2 ohm load and permits also the linking of several couples of EP 1 D. All the circuitry is internally provided so that no external accessories are needed to realize the system. When operating in EP LINK system, the first EP 1 D (Master) receives the input signal and has enabled all the controls meanwhile the second EP 1 D (Slave) receives exactly the same driving signal of the first one. This ensures the two bridged amplifiers operate with the same output signal allowing to achieve all the output power and avoiding power unbalancing phenomenon that affects traditional linking systems. EP 1 D system brings you at the top on SPL competitions! 06 2X 700 w Power Supply Power supply voltage: 11÷15 VDC Idling current: 1.5 A Idling current when off: 0.02 mA Consumption @ 2 Ω, 14.4 VDC (Max Musical Power): 45 A Amplifier stage Distorsion - THD ( 1kHz @ 4 Ω): 0.05 % 7 ÷ 60k Hz Bandwidth (-3 dB): 100 dB S/N Ratio (A weighted @ 1 V): Damping factor (1kHz @ 4 Ω): 130 0.3 ÷ 5 V Pre-In sensitivity: 15 kΩ Pre-In impedance: 1.4 ÷ 24 V Speaker-In sensitivity: 470 Ω Speaker-In impedance: Minimum Load impedance: 2 Ch 1 Ch 2Ω 4Ω CEA 2006-A RATINGS RMS Power(4 Ω, ≤1%THD+N, 14.4 Volts): 220 W x 2 Ch 1 FR-4 dual-layer 70 µm copper thick PCB and robust copper bars for high current transfer, shorter audio signal paths and high reliability. 2 The output stage features 3 + 3 SANKEN TO3P 2SC3284/2SA1303 transistors pairs for each channel, providing the highest current and power delivery. 3 The power supply stage is based on Dual Multi-winding toroidal transformers and Low ESR 105°C electrolytic capacitors. 4 Special pseudo-balanced dual input circuitry to reject electromagnetic disturbances present on the Pre-amplified or Speaker-In. 5 Pre-amplified and Speaker-In allow interface with aftermarket or OEM sources. 6 ARTTM,-Automatic Remote Turn-On/Off function turns the amplifier on and off in perfect sync with the source, eliminating the need for a remote signal when using the Speaker-In.
