Klippel QC Certified: Certified Quality and Reliability The Sound Experience
With the introduction of the Mille project, Hertz created a new reference for technological standards and hi-fidelity sound reproduction: now the Klippel QC Certification enhances this quality and reliability by compiling all of the loudspeakers measurements in a data base, allowing the reconstruction of each component’s production life. The unique and exclusive performance achieved with the Mille loudspeaker family takes in-vehicle musical enjoyment to an unheard of level. The recognition obtained through several international accolades confirmed that the team’s original goal had been achieved. At the 2007 CES in Las Vegas, the ML 3000 subwoofer was presented the Design and Innovations Award; the MLK 165 system earned the most yearned-for award in the United States, Car Audio & Electronics Magazine “Best of Car Audio 2007”; lastly, the ML 2500 subwoofer was awarded with the title of “European Mobile Subwoofer of the year 2007-2008” by the EISA. The Mille line represents the reference of the Hertz product range. From its birth until now, each component has been the protagonist of both technical and production improvements. In the ML 280 the process of soldering the speaker leads to the tweeter body was improved, increasing reliability. In the ML 500R the production process of the membrane was improved, leading to consistent specifications and improved reliability. In the ML 1600 the improvement concerns efficiency and stability within the magnetic gap. With this new version an improved surround is employed, along with enhancements to its gluing procedure: complete reliability, even under extreme operating conditions. Upgrades to the ML subwoofers concern only the production phase: the assembly equipment along the production line was improved, maintaining a perfect alignment of the mobile assembly within the gap, ensuring cosmetic perfection and reliability.
04
Crossover performance has been improved, starting with the PTC tweeter protection. A more efficient internal ventilation system was developed, including ventilation slots in the Plexiglas and enhanced heat dissipaters on the resistors.
The Sound Experience
The Hertz team strives for the progress of in-vehicle hi-fidelity. Their success has produced new ambitions. Before being released into the market, each Mille product undergoes strict and very selective tests using the Klippel QC system. With “Klippel QC Certified” Mille loudspeakers receive one more confirmation of quality and reliability: strengthening and renewing the Hertz tradition.
The Klippel Quality Control System is the most advanced state-of-the-art measurement instrument available for production line quality control. The heart of the system is the advanced analysis algorithm “MetaHearing” which actually listens to the loudspeaker while it undergoes a test procedure, with the quality and the consistency of an instrument of analysis. All the measurements obtained by Klippel QC converge to a system database: a unique ID is created for each MILLE line loudspeaker, making it possible to track the loudspeaker through various production phases and create a history of its manufacturing life.
