Press Release – October 2008 Durofix – 18V Lithium Ion Impact Wrench / Driver and 2 Speed Hammer / Drill / Driver One year since Durofix launched its first two power tools in the UK , ie the 10.8V Impact Driver and 2 Speed Drill / Driver , Interbuild in October 2008 will see the launch of its unique 18V Compact Li-ion Impact Wrench / Driver and 18V Hammer / Drill / Driver . These two tools will set the standard in compact Li-ion power tools at 18V and will add to Durofix’s already growing reputation . The Hammer / Drill / Driver is superbly priced and unique in size and shape and is capable of fulfilling a multitude of tasks for different trades . Although not as high a specification as some Combis available what it lacks is made up for in price , ease of use , size , weight and versatility and will perform most tasks that any Combi user requires . The Impact Wrench / Driver is truly unique and special and really sets a high standard for compact Li-ion . It is an ½” square wrench but has 2 adaptors to convert it into an impact driver and another adaptor that converts it to a 3/8” square wrench thereby covering all socket sizes . At 190Nm of torque there is nothing even close to this power tool in the market today . It has great capability and versatility and power and is priced to stand out as both an impact wrench and an impact driver and captures two tools in one machine so making it outstanding value . Both tools are powered by the latest 1.4Ah Sony Lithium Ion batteries and both tools are very compact in size and weigh only 1.3Kg each . The tools are beautifully balanced and are rechargeable within 30 minutes with the batteries providing some impressive life per charge . Each tool is presented in a professional hard , durable carry case and are accompanied by spare bits and brushes and a super bright LED lamp which is powered by the power tool batteries . The Durofix tools have been manufactured to the highest standard in terms of components parts and motors and with the end user very much in mind and the tools are powered by Sony Lithium Ion batteries , considered by many to be the best batteries available . As an example of capability in our own testing we could fit comfortably over 300 4x50 woodscrews into softwood on one charge with the impact wrench / driver and 385 of the same size screws with the Hammer / Drill / Driver .
