Press release Large format, small footprint: the new KIP 700m Langenhagen, Germany, June 2011 Konica Minolta is launching a new large format multifunctional printer, the KIP 700m. It offers up to A0-size document scanning, copying and printing in monochrome and can also be upgraded with advanced colour scan, copy and print options. The monochrome A0 printer is an excellent enhancement to existing colour inkjets or Konica Minolta multifunctional devices. Being affordable and small in size, it targets especially the building and construction industry, the architectural market as well as government organisations. “The KIP 700m offers the most powerful multifunctional performance in a compact and affordable solution,” says Anja Schappert, Product Manager Production Printing Group, at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe. “Remarkable precision of imaging, low printing costs and convenient front access to all printer functions have been realised in a system small enough to fit into a construction trailer.” With a footprint of less than a square metre, the Konica Minolta KIP 700m offers 600 x 600 dpi resolution for printing, copying and scanning. It is possible to upgrade the monochrome network printer and copier to a fully featured monochrome printing system with advanced colour scan, copy and print options combined in a single device. Using the KIP 700m’s touchscreen operating panel, documents can also be printed from removable media such as standard USB drives, ensuring document mobility and document security. To provide an overall print management solution Konica Minolta offers the software KIP Request for simple and efficient file submission and KIP PrintNet for web-based file submission with effective administrator features. Furthermore the KIP 700m is equipped with cloud functionality for driverless scanning and printing via email. 1 Up to two A0 prints per minute and automated paper loading define the KIP 700m’s productivity. The system accepts media rolls with two and three-inch cores and up to 36 inches wide. A paper tray for standard sizes from A4 to A2 extends the range of print sizes that can be produced without switching rolls and turns the KIP 700m into a workgroup printer for small formats where required. “The KIP 700m is 100% toner-efficient by using standard media instead of ink and special media,” says Konica Minolta’s Anja Schappert. “All these features together make the KIP 700m the perfect entry level solution, offering very competitive cost per print together with a very small footprint.” 2 Press photos Konica Minolta’s new KIP 700m produces up to two A0 prints per minute. 3 About Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH, based in Langenhagen, Germany, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc., Tokyo, Japan.
