Press Release Sony Breaks Further from the Pack with the XQD™ S Series Memory Cards New memory cards can achieve fast transfer speeds of up to 168 MB/s1 Hong Kong, August 10, 2012 - Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Limited today announced the launch of the new XQD S Series Memory Cards (QD-S64/T and QD-S32/T), placing Sony in the forefront with ultra-fast read and write speeds. Upping the ante from the XQD H Series cards that were released earlier in February which had a read/write speed of 125 MB/s, the brand new XQD S Series cards are able to process at blazing speeds of up to 168 MB/s, making it the fastest in the market 2. No matter how fast the action is, the new XQD S series can record up to 1081,3 frames in RAW format in continuous shooting mode, ensuring that photographers will never miss a single moment. This allows photographers to shoot a 100m sprint from start to end in a single, sustained burst of RAW images at a shooting speed of 10 frames per second. Surpassing the theoretical maximum speed of existing CompactFlash devices, the industry leading XQD S Series reduces transfer times by 30%1 when compared with the fastest CF cards and shortens it by more than 30%1 when measured against conventional CF cards. This makes the XQD S Series perfect for photo enthusiasts and professional sports photographers who demand the very best when it comes to taking their best shot, while at the same time saving them precious time when backing large amounts of photo data to their PCs.
