MUNICH. Mini notebooks are getting more and more popular as they enable easy internet access anywhere, are very light-weighted and have a long battery life. Telefónica O2 Germany has now expanded the range of products by two new devices: the Acer Aspire One 751 which is available immediately and the Asus EeePC 1005HGO which will be sold by O2 as of mid-September. Both netbooks are equipped with the Microsoft Windows XP Home (SP3) operating system and are available independent of a mobile telecommunications contract via the O2 My Handy offer. The costs for the new Asus netbook include the advance payment of € 1 and 24 monthly rates of € 15 (total price € 361). Likewise, the costs for the Acer netbook include an advance payment of € 1 and 24 monthly rates of € 20 (total price € 481). O2 recommends using the O2 Active Data tariff and the Internet-Pack-L. The Acer Aspire One 751 is a true multimedia mini notebook. With a screen size of 29.46 centimetres (11.6 inches) and the Dolby® Headphone audio system it delivers an excellent viewing experience for HD content in the 16:9 format. This experience is ensured by the resolution of the LED backlit display of 1,366 x 768 pixels. The battery life is more than eight hours so that several films can be watched in a row. The integrated UMTS modem allows downloads from online video shops at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbit/s via HSDPA depending on its availability. A 160 GB hard disc is available for storing files. In addition, applications can be simply and rapidly operated with a multi-gesture touchpad. The compact lightweight Asus EeePC 1005HGO excels with innovative technologies and extremely easy handling. The EeePC in its elegant and attractive design with an ergonomic, white keyboard and a case in white piano lacquer is suited for the entire family. The battery life is up to 6.9 hours. Users stay connected anytime via the integrated UMTS modem which, according to availability, enables download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbit/s via HSDPA and the WLAN and Bluetooth connection.
