Berlin, 9.11.2013 Teufel Audio presents its newest 5.1 home cinema sets, the Consono 25 Mk3 and the Consono 35 Mk3: Two compact sets that have always punched well above their station with powerful, balanced sound - now in a stylish new design.
Full home cinema sound for less than £200. The Consono 25 Mk3 employs genuine 2-way loudspeakers to produce a powerful 5.1 surround sound without compromise. The Consono 35 Mk3 offers sophisticated satellite speakers and an even more powerful subwoofer for under £350. “Good sound doesn’t have to cost the earth,” said Teufel developer Jens Ohler about the new models. “Our Consono series always stood for first-class sound at an unbeatable price. The latest models present this sound in a first-class design.”
Home Cinema without Compromise Teufel insists on employing well-established home cinema principles, even with its entry level models – the same used in its prosumer THX systems. This means that all satellites are equipped with identical drivers in order to produce a homogenous, surround sound coulisse. The Consono 25 uses satellites with a midrange driver and tweeter to achieve this effect. The Consono 35 has two midrange drivers plus tweeter in each satellite for an even richer tone. Both share the same centre speaker. Since most movie dialogue is channelled through this speaker, it has two midrange drivers and a tweeter for optimal speech intelligibility.
First-class design and construction Both models have a silky matte exterior that is available in either black or white. The wrap-around front grille accentuates the chrome-ringed drivers for an elegant, yet subtle look that enhances any living room. The Consono sets are delivered with a stand for the centre. The satellite speakers have keyhole brackets, making them easy to mount on a wall, as well as screw threads for placing them on stands. This flexibility makes it easy to integrate the Consono sets into any interior.
The subwoofer on the Consono 25 Mk3 makes use of a mere 27.5 litres and a maximum power of 100 watts to create a rich bass tone with a 43 Hz low end. The Consono 35 Mk2 uses 150 watts in a 67.5 litre volume enclosure to achieve strong bass all the way down to 40 Hz. Thanks to a Downfire construction and compact surface areas of 28 cm x 28 cm (Consono 25 Mk3) and 34 cm x 34 cm (Consno 35 Mk3), the subwoofers take up very little space.
