First there's an explanation of the key features of your new Nokia 7600, so finding your way around the handset will soon become second nature. This section helps you to get to know your handset, showing you how to navigate around functions and which keys to press to do what. Then, we’ll give you a quick explanation of how to follow the instructions in this guide. Earpiece Power key (On/off) Screen Camera key Press to take a picture or record a video clip. Keypad Enter numbers and characters. Press and hold to access voice mailbox. Volume up key Voice key Starts voice recording. Press and hold to activate voice dialling. Soft keys Activates the prompts displayed in the screen above. Send key Dials a number or answers a call. From the start screen, shows most recently dialled numbers. 4-way Navigation key and enter key / menu key Scrolls through different lists, and moves cursor in text screens. Pressing the centre performs the function displayed in the screen above. Pressing left in the start screen opens the text screen. Pressing right in the start screen opens the Calendar. 1.1 Volume down key First things first End key Ends or rejects a call. Exits from any function. Triangle key One touch access to Today on 3, a world of communication, information and entertainment. Infrared port Allows wireless connection with a compatible device. You need to set the time and date before you can use your Calendar and other functions. Once set, this will also help the speed of 3 services. The hand icon indicates what buttons / keys you press en route to a destination screen for the service you require. Time and date settings Confirming or performing an action The steps required to arrive at a destination Some steps start with the 4-way arrow symbol . This represents scrolling with the Navigation key to a function (menu items and services are shown as a name and / or an icon). Settings Settings Time and date settings You will be prompted on your handset screen by options such as Back, Cancel, Capture, Open, Options, Record, Save etc. These indicate which entry to scroll to or the soft keys required to complete the action. The eye icon indicates what you will see at the destination screen. ● Press ● At Clock press ● Scroll to Settings and press ● Scroll to Set the time and press ● Scroll to Time and date settings and press ● Edit the time and press OK To set the date: The brain icon indicates a written explanation of the entire function. Sometimes the text under the brain icon is split into two sections. First, before the arrow icon, you will find an explanation of the steps needed to get to the service or function. When dialling, you can also store a number to your contacts by pressing Save after all the digits are visible on the screen. You can access your mail from any phone by calling 07782 333123 or +44 7782 333123 (when calling from abroad), and entering your 3 phone number eg (07782 XXXXXX) and your new 4-digit PIN. Your recorded name will be used to identify messages you send to other 3 subscribers. The photos will be stored in a Gallery on your handset which you can delete when necessary to free up memory space on your handset. The video will be stored in a Gallery on your handset which you can delete when necessary to free up memory space on your handset. It unlocks a world of entertainment and information that offers the thrill of goals, ITN news video bulletins and MTV videos. And much more. Read on. On pressing the Triangle key, you’ll find colourful icons like these on your screen. Each represents a 3 service or function you can select. Having pressed the Triangle key, you can scroll through the Services menu by pressing the Navigation key. Certain 3 services are unavailable with your Nokia 7600 handset, but services will continually be updated. There are two ways to download and play clips: Quickplay is a faster way of watching videos. The video won’t be stored on your handset. This is available on some 3 services, eg News and Top Shelf. Save & play content is downloaded and stored on your handset. Watch the hottest music videos, interviews and best bits of MTV, or catch Pete Tong’s Fast Trax for the latest from the dance scene. Note: Some of these services may not be available in the voice & picture service area. For details, see the ‘Little book of stuff’.
