Print Tracker can monitor and alert dealers when devices cross volume thresholds. Setting volume alerts may help dealers keep their customer’ locally connected printers operational and supplied with toner and services. Following are the steps required to set up volume alerting: 1. Open Admin and right click on the installation where device management is needed. 2. Click on the ‘View meters’ option to access the Meter Viewer. 3. Right click on the locally connected device that requires volume alerting to open options. 4. Select ‘Edit device’. Volume alert settings are in the lower left of the ‘Edit Device Settings’ dialog: 5. The last report date and the last meter is shown in the yellow highlighted area: a. Report Date: 2014-05-05 b. Last Meter: 14574 6. Enter a meter value for the volume alert to begin. 7. Enter a frequency (page count) for the volume alert. Volume alert settings will need to be made for each locally connected device that is to be monitored. If the customer puts more or less ink on the page than normal, the actual yield would be different than the manufacturers stated yield. If there was a toner need now, and the frequency was set for into the future, (2000 pages from the current count), the device would be out before the threshold is reached. Devices and their frequency settings will need to be reviewed for fill and replacement accuracy. As a group, monitoring locally connected printers is challenging.
