Printer Recommendations For check printing, we recommend using a dedicated printer that has at least two trays. Do not use the “toner save” feature with Mekorma MICR printers. Suggested Printer: •
HP M506dn or HP M506x
• The HP M506 series are good printers to use as dedicated check printers. They are fast and durable enough, without being more printer than is needed. Specifically, the M506x has these features: •

Network capable
Less robust printers, such as the P1000 and P2000 series, may struggle with the thicker, perforated check stock. These printers are not supported for Mekorma MICR check printing. More robust printers, such as the 4000 series and above, are designed to handle much larger print volumes than what is required for just printing checks. Because we recommend having a dedicated printer for checks, the larger models are excessive and unnecessary for this task unless you are consistently printing more than 5,000 checks per month.

You should receive a free MICR gauge shortly after your initial Mekorma MICR order. If you have not received the gauge, please contact our Sales department. Check stock & envelopes can be ordered at the time you order Mekorma MICR. Pre-configured supply packages are available on our standard registration form., You can re-order supplies by contact Mekorma’s recommended vendor, Altec. Altec can be reached by calling 877-201-2005. You can also search the Internet using the key words “blank check stock" or“magnetic toner” to locate vendors.
