Printing to the Epson 4000 from Photoshop CS3 Your file should have an appropriate color profile embedded in it like: Adobe RGB (1998), sRGB IEC61966-2.1, or the profile from your digital camera or scanner. You can go to edit > convert to profile to see the current embedded profile, and convert or assign as needed.
1. File > Print 2. If you haven’t already setup your page, use page setup, and the settings on the center and left of the print dialog box to do so.
3. In the first print dialog box, in the Color Management section, for Color Handling, choose Photoshop Manages Colors
4. Choose the correct printer/paper profile. You’ll have to scroll down a list to find the profiles that start with Pro4000 that are for this printer. PLPP stands for Premium Luster Photo Paper(now called Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster) If you’re using something other than one of the epson papers listed, pick whatever seems closest. Some high quality non-epson brand papers, may have custom profiles that can be installed on the computer. See the lab administrator for help with this.
5. The Rendering Intents Relative Colorimetric, and perceptual tend to work best with photos. I ususally check the black point compensation box, but this can be set as you prefer.
click the Print button to proceed to the next step 6. In the second print dialog box, click on the pop-up menu to select Print Settings Choose the media type that most closely matches your paper. Choose settings for color and quality as preferred.
Turn Printer Color Management off. Make sure your paper is loaded correctly in the printer. Click Print to send the job. If your job doesn’t start, click on the printer icon that appears on the dock to access the printer que. This will show pending jobs. Clear the que of problem jobs. If the Print Watcher program shows a communication error message, don’t worry about it. It won’t affect any print jobs.
