PRODUCT DESCRIPTOR: Quality organic wines are made to the highest possible standards. Shouldn’t their bottle stoppers be made the same way? Introducing OrganiQork – the new line of natural, high-quality corks from Korkindustrie Trier. OrganiQork is the cork organic wines deserve. Made from a single piece of cork cut from a carefully selected sheet of bark. Boiled in clear, filtered water. Washed in a bath made from natural citric acid and other substances commonly used in food. And finished with nothing but a coating of genuine beeswax and vegetable oil. The result is a cork that’s as pure as it can be – unbleached, uncolored, chemical-free, with no fillers. And, like all Korkindustrie Trier products, free of anything genetically manipulated. Each Organiqork lot is also tested using a GC/MS technique and sensory analysis to help insure the quality of the cork and wine it protects. The statistical probability of finding an OrganiQork with any discernible TCA is less than 1%. By using natural cork, you’ll also help sustain ecologically important cork oak forests and their wide variety of native species – an objective of both the Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) of Germany and the World Wide Fund for Nature. We ship OrganiQorks in protective packaging and a datasheet containing the lot origin, year of harvest, certification of all processing in both Portugal and Trier, and sensory system data.
And start using corks made to the same high standards as the wine it protects.

February 2011 Certificate per Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 for the organic production and labeling of organic products, Regulation (EC) 889/2008 (rules for implementation of Regulation (EC) 834/2007) and Regulation (EC) No. 967/2008 of 29 September 2008 amending Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 Wine corks are articles of use and as such are not subject to the scope of Regulations (EC) 834/2007, (EC) 889/2008 and (EC) 967/2008. In addition, there are currently no laws or regulations for the organic production of cork bark or wine corks, so there is no official certification for organic wine corks at this time. However, we can confirm that OrganiQork natural corks are produced organically and sustainably. We exclusively use cork bark from forests that adhere to the criteria of sustainable forestry and are not artificially fertilized. In Portugal, nothing but clean water is used to process the cork bark. The cork is refined in Trier using only pure bees wax (permitted per Regulation (EC) 834/2007 as a food additive) and vegetable oil. Both products are free of geneticallymodified organisms and allergenic substances. Declarations of assurance from the producers are existent. If any OrganiQork we supply does no longer meet any of the preceding standards, we will inform you immediately.
