PRODUCT FOCUS 15 Ask your dealer representative about these dozer features: • Automatic Traction Control reduces track slippage under maximum load conditions. This feature automatically adjusts to keep the machine moving steadily, minimizing the need to continually adjust the blade to prevent stalling. The results are more consistent grades, reduced operator fatigue and improved undercarriage life. • Slope Indicate accurately displays the machine’s blade cross-slope direction, as well as its main-fall (fore/aft) direction, eliminating guesswork. • Slope Assist helps achieve the required main-fall by automatically maintaining pre-established blade angles. Consistent grades are attained more quickly with the system, fill materials are conserved, and less-experienced operators are more productive. • Eco Mode improves fuel economy up to 20 percent by reducing engine speed in less-demanding conditions. Two settings, forward/reverse or reverse only, are selected via the rotary throttle, and Eco Mode then controls engine speed at optimum levels. • Stable Blade Control complements the operator’s blade-control input for finer control and more consistent grades. • Power Pitch allows the operator to adjust blade pitch hydraulically on the go: more aggressive forward angles for loading the blade, less-severe rearward angles to carry the load. Power Pitch can boost productivity as much as an estimated 6 percent. • Electro-Hydraulic Maps allow the operator to set the blade response level to suit personal preferences or to 16 PRODUCT FOCUS tailor the machine to the type of work being done. • Enhanced Auto Shift enables the operator to select the optimum ground speed for heavy- and light-duty applications. With Enhanced Auto Shift activated, the Bi-Directional Shift system allows pre-setting forward/reverse gear ranges, saving the operator from repetitively making this selection with each directional change. D7E NOW EVEN BETTER The Cat D7E dozer, introduced in 2009, uses an innovative dieselelectric power train to deliver up to 30 percent better fuel efficiency and 10 percent more production than its D7R2 predecessor. Now the D7E, which meets U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards, has been upgraded with addition of three new productivityboosting features: • Stable Blade Control automatically adjusts the blade for more precise grades. • Traction Control senses track slip and makes instantaneous blade adjustments, resulting in greater productivity with less undercarriage wear. • Slope Indicate provides a constant visual readout of the machine’s mainfall and cross slope for real-time grade and slope guidance without a dedicated grade control system.
