MicroLogix Press Clutch/Brake MicroLogix 6556 Programmable Controller Based Safety PES for Mechanical Press Clutch/Brake Overview Before you purchase a new mechanical stamping press or retrofit existing machinery, take a look into the newest addition to the Allen-Bradley 6556 series press control solutions family. Built around Allen-Bradley's SLC and PLC programmable controller designs, the 6556-MLCBK and 6556-MLCBKDC MicroLogix 1500 packages provide redundant safety solutions based on industrially rated platforms that set high standards for reliability and expandability. They have been designed by Allen-Bradley to control basic dual clutch/brake mechanisms on partial revolution mechanical stamping presses and conform to safety standards. installation and operation, this package is especially suited for smaller presses with one run-station and Rotary-Cam Limit Switches for position. Package Description The 6556 Clutch/Brake Controller kit is bundled together with redundant controller hardware, safety relays, application software and documentation. The kit includes two Micrologix 1500 base units, with additional I/O software and is designed to provide the necessary redundant, self-testing and verification requirements that conform to ANSI, OSHA, CSA, EN and IEC standards. The 6556-MLCBKDC has been certified by TUV to meet worldwide standards with software pre-programmed by the factory and secured in Prom like Flash memory. Diagnostics and prompts can be viewed on a pre-programmed PanelView operator interface option. No user PLC programming is required and the kit can be ordered with a variety of networking options for connecting to other press controls. Installing and Using Since both MicroLogix units come pre-programmed, the press control integrator simply needs to follow the instructions to mount and wire the control system and connect the devices to the appropriate I/O. Because of its low cost and simplicity of Flexible Customers may order pre-engineered PressMaster™ Systems including magnetics, and HMI mounted in a NEMA enclosure. Additional 6556 kits are available containing pre-programmed functions for those customers wishing to not do their own programming. Expandable To add functionality such as resolver-based Programmable Limit Switch Outputs, Die Monitoring, Tonnage, Motor and Drive Controls, Lube, Production Monitoring, Quality and Data Acquisition, Feed Control and other Automation, a third processor can be added onto the network as needed. This can be either a PLC, SLC, MicroLogix or ControlLogix platform. Standard Features • Mode selection, including: - Inch Shown is the 6556 Micrologix C/B Control connected to a third programmable controller - Single Stroke - Continuous - Micro inch • Pre-programmed diagnostics and prompts Other redundant 6556 kits and PressMaster™ Systems, which meet ANSI B11.2 and CAN/CSA Z142-M90, are available for Mechanical or Hydraulic Press Control. • RCLS compatibility • Inputs for one run-station Designed to Following Standards • User Interface inputs • OSHA 1910.217 • ANSI B11.1 AC, DC and Additional Kits Available • CAN/CSA-Z142-M90 The 6556-MLCBK is designed for use with a 120 VAC grounded • NFPA No. 79 power source.
