May 2014 Subject: Product discontinuation notice – MP7900 of K-Chief 500 Dear valued customer, The intent of this letter is to inform you of the Kongsberg Maritime decision to discontinue support of the remote workstation computer MP7900. The model was introduced 2009. Spare parts- and service support Kongsberg Maritime obsolete this computer and its belonging spare part components due to no availability in the market:  OS version HP MP 7900 w/LAN/CAN Kongsberg Maritime AS still offers full software- and field service support for K-Chief 500. Being aware of the difficult situation an obsolete product may cause, Kongsberg Maritime has developed replacement work station computer based on new technology. We offer replacement computer for installation on relatively short notice at reasonable prices. Options:  Upgrade of MP7900 to MP8300.  Upgrade of top system ( SW ) to K-Chief 600.  Total retrofit of the whole system to K-Chief 600.
