UPDATING THE FIRMWARE To update the firmware on your EasyDVR: 1. Download the newest firmware from openeye.net to a USB thumb drive. 2. Insert the USB thumb drive in the front USB port on the EasyDVR. 3. Press menu on the front panel or remote control and if you have not done so already, log in. 4. Navigate to SYSTEM, and then to UPGRADE. 5. Press ENTER to select SOFTWARE UPGRADE. 6. The system will scan for, and locate the firmware files. 7. Select the software from the list to start the upgrade. 8. After the firmware upgrade is complete, the DVR will restart. Make sure you load the default settings after updating the firmware.
REMOTE ACCESS The EasyDVR uses the built in browser access application to access the EasyDVR remotely. There is no separate software to download. The recommended method is through Internet Explorer. The EasyDVR uses an ActiveX control for the web viewer that allows a dynamic user interface. Internet Explorer The browser-based remote application allows full control of the EasyDVR including live video, digital zoom live video, search by date or event, configure and save recorder settings. Changes to Network and User settings are NOT available and you cannot update the firmware through the remote application.
This full featured interface allows users to connect without the need to install separate remote software.

Other Browsers Other browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera can also be used to access the EasyDVR remotely. However, ActiveX controls are not available on 3rd party browsers, so the interface does not have as many features, and is limited to a single channel live view.
From this interface, you can view live video and change the configuration of the EasyDVR. This interface is extremely limited, which is why IE is recommended.

SUPPORTING SOFTWARE The EasyDVR is NOT compatible with RADIUS, or OpenEye Remote software. Remote access – The EasyDVR is only accessible through the built in web viewer. • Open Internet Explorer and type the IP address of the DVR into the address bar, then allow IE to download and install the ActiveX control. •
Mozilla ® Firefox ®, Google™ Chrome™, or Apple® Safari® can be used to connect to the recorder. These browsers have a single channel view limitation, restricting you to viewing only one camera at a time. The setup menus can be accessed, but no search and no backup options are available.

Live View, Search and PTZ control are available on the iPhone and iPad. Support of the full setup menu will be incorporated in Q1 of 2012. Android apps will be available in January as well.
