- With your other hand hold the trimmer to the base E of your neck with the cutting unit facing up (Refer to Diagram E), and move the trimmer up the length of the neck until it touches your finger covering the hair roots at the base of your head. Be sure to move the trimmer slowly when performing this operation and to keep the hair roots at the base of your head out of the way of the trimmer. SPEED TUNE DIAL - There may be times when you desire more or less power for your trimming needs. To adjust the power of your Facial Trimmer use the dial on the side of the product. - Note: Using a lower speed setting on your trimmer is more environmentally friendly as the battery life will be extended when less energy is consumed. - Gently brush the remaining hairs away from the trimmer comb and trimmer blade. - Note: Do not rinse the cutter assembly under water. POP-UP TRIMMER - Remove the trimmer comb attachment. - Slide up the Pop-up trimmer into operating position. (Refer to Diagram F) - Brush hair from the trimmer blades and the surrounding areas. CLEANING CAUTIONS - Only the trimmer comb attachment and the trimmer blade may be removed from the product for cleaning. - Cleaning should only be done with a soft brush, such as the brush supplied with the product. - Remove the cutting assembly by firmly pushing on the blade with your thumb. (Refer to Diagram A) - Do not use harsh or corrosive cleaners on the units or their blades. - To replace the cutting assembly, hold the trimmer in one hand, insert the lower part of the cutter assembly into the trimmer then push down the cutter until firmly attached and in place. (Refer to Diagram F) • Keep the power adaptor power cord away from heated surfaces. - Fully discharge the battery by running the trimmer until it stops; then follow recharging instructions. If time between recharging cycles does not increase contact the Remington service centre. • Do not use on people who are asleep. F REMOVING AND REPLACING THE CUTTING ASSEMBLY A Trimmer does not hold charge: - This trimmer is not washable. Do not rinse under water. - Do not submerge in water as damage will occur.. STORAGE - Always store this appliance and cord in a moisture-free area. Do not store in temperatures exceeding 60°C (140°F). INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHARGING HOW TO USE YOUR FACIAL TRIMMER REMOVING THE TRIMMER COMB ATTACHMENT Before using your Facial Trimmer for the first time, charge for 14-16 hours. One full charge allows for 40 minutes of cordless usage time. Before using your Facial Trimmer, make sure your skin is clean, dry and free from creams or oils. Always comb your beard or moustache with a fine comb before you start trimming. - Hold the trimmer in one hand with your thumb firmly on the zoom wheel to keep it from turning. You can either charge your Facial Trimmer using the USB cable plugged into your USB computer port, or you can plug the USB Cable into the USB charging adaptor that has been provided with the product, which can be plugged into any household (220/240V AC) power outlet. KEY PARTS CAUTION: Do not turn your Facial Trimmer on when charging through your USB port on your computer. 6. Ensure that the On/Off switch is in the Off position. Attach the USB cable to the product and plug into either the USB port into your computer or any household (220/240V AC) power outlet using the USB charging adaptor. Speed Tune Dial USB Port Pop-up Trimmer USB Charging Adaptor USB Cable • In order to preserve the life of the batteries, they should be fully discharged every six months and then fully charged for 14 -16 hours. • Always ensure that your hands, Facial Trimmer and mains/ charging adaptor are dry before charging. • The Facial Trimmer can be used when attached to mains voltage (220-240 Volts). Please note that extended mains only use will result in the reduction of the battery life. • Do not charge or use the Facial Trimmer in close proximity to water. ADJUSTING THE TRIM LENGTH The trimmer comb can be adjusted to give you 9 different trimming lengths by simply turning the zoom wheel to the desired setting. For a shorter length turn the zoom wheel clockwise and for a longer length turn the zoom wheel anti-clockwise. The wheel will click into place as it reaches each setting and the setting number will appear on the length position indicator. It is easiest to remove the comb if your thumb is positioned on top of the comb and your index finger underneath the comb. (Refer to Diagram A) A B - Ensure the length position indicator is set at 1. - Slide the comb down the grooves until it clicks into place. - Note: The trimmer comb can only be placed on the trimmer one way; if it does not fit properly remove and reverse it. TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS: - Stubble, beard, moustache and sideburns should be dry. Note: The Trimmer comb must be attached to the Facial Trimmer in order to use the hair length selector. - Avoid using lotions before using your trimmer. Comb your hair in the direction that it grows. - Remove the trimmer comb attachment if you are: defining edges such as sideburns, trimming the nape of your neck, trimming your beard line on the front of the neck. TO THIN AND TAPER YOUR STUBBLE/BEARD/MOUSTACHE - Use the zoom wheel to set the trimmer comb to the desired length setting. The setting will appear on the length position indicator. If you are trimming for the first time start with the maximum trimming length setting (9). - Turn the unit on. - Place the flat top of the trimmer comb against the skin (Refer to Diagram C) - If hair builds up in the trimmer comb during the trimming process, switch the unit off and unplug it, pull off the comb and brush off the hair. (Refer to Diagram D) D TO DEFINE THE STUBBLE/BEARD/MOUSTACHE LINE REPLACING THE TRIMMER COMB ATTACHMENT - Hold the trimmer in one hand with your thumb firmly on the zoom wheel to keep it from turning. (Refer to Diagram B) - Slowly guide the trimmer through the hair. Repeat from different directions if necessary. C - Remove the trimmer comb attachment (Refer to Diagram D) - Start with the edge of the stubble/beard/ moustache line and gently lower the trimmer blade onto your skin (Refer to Diagram B). Use motions towards the edge of your stubble/beard/moustache line to trim to desired locations in the facial area and away from your beard in the neck area. D B - For finer shaping, raise the pop-up trimmer and shape as desired. TRIMMING THE EDGES OF SIDEBURNS - Remove the trimmer comb attachment (Refer to Diagram D) D - Start with the edge of the sideburn and with the trimmer blades resting lightly against your skin. Use motions towards the edge of your sideburns. - For finer shaping, raise the pop-up trimmer and shape as desired. TRIMMING THE NAPE OF YOUR NECK - Note: You will need a hand mirror for this task if you are performing it on your own. - Remove the trimmer comb attachment (Refer to Diagram D) - D Use your fingers to lift the hair at the base of your head up off your neck. Your index finger should be covering the roots of the hairs as you are lifting to prevent the accidental removal of the hair by the trimmer.
