Gateway Quick Start Guide Installation of Modbus (RS 485) Side (Gateway Ù IAI Controllers) I 1. Connect IAI Controllers via Cable-Set CB-RCB-CTL002 to the Gateway. Wire RS 485 Bus (refer Page 24 of the Manual) like following (Cable set is optional): Gateway SDA SDB GND 2. 3. 4. Pin 1 2 3 (GND of Gateway and Controllers must be same) Connect 24 V DC to the Gateway and the IAI Controllers. Select axis numbers of each IAI Controller. Bus communication check a) Connect the IAI Programming Cable to the Gateway. b) Switch all Port Switches to ON. c) Switch on Power. d) Start IAI PC Interface Software (The IAI Software shows all Controllers on the Bus). If no Controller is shown, check the Baud rate of each Controller direct with the PC Interface Software. Parameter Nr. 16 must be 230400 Baud rate. Parameter Nr. 17 (RTIM) must be 2. e) Connect PC Interface Software to Gateway and restart connection. If no Controller is shown, Power Off and ON the system. f) Switch Port Switch on Gateway to OFF (OFF means Profibus is active). II. Installation of Profibus Side (PLC/PC Ù Gateway) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Connect Profibus Cable to the PLC/PC and the Gateway. Select Profibus Address on the Gateway with the address setting switches. Select the amount of connected IAI Controllers with switch SW1 on the Gateway (refer to Page 11 of the Manual) Install the Gateway in the PLC/PC with the GSD File (The address must correspondent to the address switch setting of the Gateway) Select I/O address range. (Address/Length und Commands you find in Manual up to Page 54) Now the Installation is finished. The Profibus Communication Status LED lights green. The Controller Communication Status LED’s TxD and RxD blinking green. III. First easy Communication Test (PLC/PC Ù IAI Controller) Send device SERVO ON and HOME to controller for homing movement of actuator.
