Profile 42” with Codec C20 Microphone installation guide The Profile 42” with Codec C20 is shipped with two microphones. Room setup A Room setup B Normally a single microphone should suffice to serve all the participants, see room setup A. However, if this is not the case you will need to use two microphones, see room setup B. You must then make sure they are spaced sufficiently apart to avoid that the sound of the first microphone suffers from interference from the second microphone. A room with four or less participants requires one microphone. A room with more than four participants requires two microphones. Participant Installing the microphones Open the door in the base module and locate the microphone connectors on the Codec C20. Connect the microphone cables. X Stretch out the cables from the codec to the table and place the cables in the cable duct. How to place the two microphones s As a rule of thumb: The second microphone (MIC 2) should be placed three times (distance 3X) or longer away from a participant compared to the microphone (MIC 1) closest (distance X) to that participant. This is the case for all participants. MIC 1 Camera view – max zoom MIC 1 3X MIC 2 Camera view – max zoom Video system Video system s If you cannot fulfill the requirement you probably will not need the second microphone in the first place. Instead inspect the site to ensure that all participants have eye contact with the microphone when using the system.
