Electronic instant water heater MCX SMARTRONIC ®
Energy efficiency for handwashing
The electronic instant water heater MCX SMARTRONIC® is the efficient way of supplying hot water to the handwash basin. The small appliance is installed under the basin and heats the water directly as it flows through. It switches on automatically as soon as the tap is turned on and switches off as soon as the tap is turned off. The intelligent electronics controls the necessary heating power to heat the water to the desired temperature. The user can preselect the maximum outlet temperature (35 °C, 38 °C or 45 °C) at the touch of a button on the appliance. Inlet pressure and temperature variations are surely compensated.

The new top of the range appliance on the handwash basin:
Progressively equipped like no other in its class
Wall bracket The wall bracket gives the rear of the appliance a neat finish. Designed for easy push-on installation without having to open up the appliance. Removable rating plate cover Behind the cover you can access the main hood screw and water flow adjustment. Coloured LEDs The selected temperature is indicated by discreet LED lights that also act as an operating and diagnostic display. Control panel with sensor button The desired maximum outlet temperature can be selected at the touch of a button: ECO (35 °C), COMFORT (38 °C) or MAX (45 °C).

Energy efficiency comparison
So economical the electronic instant water heater
22 kWh
–85%
56 kWh effective heat
91 kWh waste heat
The electronic instant water heater only heats the water when it is needed – right at the point of use. This avoids energy and water losses that inevitably occur with long pipe runs in a central hot water supply. The appliance also has many advantages compared to decentralised small storage water heaters. Warm water flows as long as desired. Because the water is not preheated, this avoids the consumption of standby power as well as water losses through expansion drops from the tap. Additional water savings are achieved because the flow rate is set at an economical level. Running costs of up to 60 euros per year can be saved. Energy consumption (kWh/year) in the washroom of an office building for ten lots of hand washing a day. Source: Appliance efficiency comparison, CLAGE GmbH
In addition, the energy efficiency can be optimised if the electronic instant water heater is used within a solar system for top-up heating.

The appliance does not need to be opened for the installation as it is supplied with a prefitted power cable and a bracket for easy fitting. In the case of a replacement, the wall bracket fits onto the existing holes of most old appliances which are to be replaced. A connection set (T-piece and flexible pressure hose) for the pressure-resistant installation is included in the package of all models with 3/8“ water connectors to make the installation even easier. In each and every case, the mini instant water heater is a space-saving solution. The neat and compact design means the appliance fits under any handwash basin.

Restricted function for reduced power of MCX 3. 4) Temperature increase e.g. from 15 °C to 40 °C 5) Flow limited in order to obtain optimal temperature increase, can be adjusted inside the unit. 6) Regulations vary according to the regional power supply authority. Must be connected by a qualified electrician only. 7) Use the power supply cable supplied. 8) Permissible minimum electrical resistance of the water at 15 °C
Removable rating plate cover The mandatory rating plate is hidden behind a removable cover. This improves the look whilst at the same time ensuring that all important information is right there for the tradesman. The hood’s central safety screw and a screw to adjust the flow rate are under this cover.
