Description: The 48V Rack Mount Power Supply PS-RM-48V is designed to provide power to Telemetrics robotics systems. It produces enough power to operate multiple 48V Pan/Tilt heads, auxiliary robotics devices such as trolley, televator, teleglide, etc., cameras, large teleprompters and confidence monitors. The power supply is available as a basic single and optional dual configuration to satisfy specific customer requirements. The single model has one DC output, which can deliver 250 W of power. The dual model has 2 DC outputs, each one capable of providing 250 W of power. If only one output on the dual model is used, it can deliver up to 500 W of power at this output. If only one output is used and the power consumption does not exceed 250 W, the dual model will operate as a fully redundant power supply.

Rack Mount Power Supply 48V Power Cable Distance Capability Power cables are used to deliver power from the power supply to the P/T heads in three different ways:
1) Using direct connections - i.e. connecting each power supply output to a 48V P/T head as illustrated in Figures 1 and 2. The maximum length for each cable can be determined from Table 1, column A, based on the total power consumption of the P/T head and all other devices, attached to it such as televator, camera, lens, viewfinder, teleprompter, etc. For distances 400 feet and shorter, more power can be delivered by using a dual power supply to power a single 48V P/T head. To determine the maximum cable length in this case, please refer to Table 1, column B. 2) Using 48V Power Adapter PS-PA-48V as shown in Figure 3. This configuration allows up to three 48V P/T heads to be powered from one power supply unit. The maximum length of the cable from the power supply to the power adapter can be determined from Table 1, column A (for single power supply) or Table 1, column C (for dual power supply), based on the total power at the input of the breakout box. To calculate that power, add the maximum power consumption of all P/T heads, cameras, etc. and multiply the result by 1.1. 3) Using 48V Power Converter PS-PC-24/12V as shown in Figure 4. This configuration allows up to three 24V P/T heads to be powered from one power supply unit. The power converter converts 48V down to 24V and 12V for the P/T heads and the cameras respectively. The maximum length of the cable from the power supply to the power converter can be determined from Table 1, column A (for single power supply) or Table 1, column B (for dual power supply), based on the total power at the input of the converter. To calculate that power, add the maximum power consumption of all P/T heads, cameras, etc. and multiply the result by 1.2.
