Accessories and Peripherals Quite often the device its self is only a third of the overall solution. Accessories and peripherals would be another part of that third which would extend and enhance the functionality of the device. When your reseller’s customers have made the decision to invest in Apple technology then it is your responsibility to ensure they get the most out of it. In the way of extending and enhancing the functionality with accessories and peripherals as well as protect and supporting the device to make sure it lasts longer and has the warranty to support it and training etc. In this document we are going to clearly outline which accessories and peripherals will fit with each device in the Apple Eco System and suggest some questions to help you uncover the need within your resellers and ultimately their customers. After reading this document you will be able to do three things: 1. Easily identify Accessories and Peripherals for each device in the Apple Eco System. 2. Easily reference which three categories these accessories and peripherals will sit within. 3. Ask your resellers questions to ask their customers to help identify what to attach to bring the overall solution. The accessories and peripherals for each device will break down to four main categories, which are INPUT, OUTPUT, POWER, STORAGE and NETWORKING. Under each of these categories you will be able to simplify even further, each of the accessories and peripherals has been numbered for ease of reference.
1. Mice and Trackpad 1.1 * Apple Wireless Magic Mouse is easy to use right out of the box. But if employees want the functionality of a two-button mouse, that’s easy, too. They just change the configuration in System Preferences. And the ambidextrous construction means Magic Mouse is great for lefties or righties. 1.2 * Apple Magic Trackpad is the first Multi-Touch trackpad designed to work with a Mac desktop computer. It uses the same Multi-Touch technology as the MacBooks. And it supports a full set of gestures, giving a whole new way to control and interact with what’s on the screen. Swiping through pages online feels just like flipping through pages in a book or magazine. And inertial scrolling makes moving up and down a page more INPUT

natural than ever. Magic Trackpad connects to a Mac via Bluetooth wireless technology. It can be used in place of a mouse or in conjunction with one. 2. Keyboards 2.1 * Apple Keyboard will work anywhere within 30 feet of a Mac or iPad through `b. Its compact design takes up 24 per cent less space on a desktop than full-sized keyboards, It has a low-profile, anodised, aluminium enclosure with crisp, responsive keys. Use the function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, Mission Control, and Launchpad. 2.2 * Apple Numerical Keyboard features an ultra thin anodised aluminium enclosure with low-profile keys that provide a crisp, responsive feel. It also has function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, fast-forward and rewind, Mission Control, and Launchpad. Its extended layout includes document navigation controls — page up, page down, home, and end — and full-size arrow keys for scrolling through documents. Its numeric keypad is perfect for spreadsheets and financial applications. And two USB 2.0 ports enable it to be connected to a mouse as well as a high-speed peripheral such as a digital camera or printer.
3. ** WebCam & Headsets With organisations working smarter than ever. Millions of businesses now choose to hold meetings and interviews online. So choosing the right camera to go with the Mac Pro or Mac mini is going to be an important decision. The great thing about the Mac Pro and Mac mini is that most Mac compatible Web Cameras and headsets will work instantly as soon as they are plugged in. 4. * Apple Remote gives total command of music, photos, videos and DVDs from anywhere in the office. Turn up the volume. Shuffle. Skip to the next chapter on a DVD. Play a slideshow, a home movie you made in iMovie, even a film trailer. 5. Displays Many businesses find it useful to show off their products or services and what better way than using a display that works from the MacBook Pro. It is possible to have an additional display with the MacBook Air. If two or more displays are required then the MacBook Pro is right for the job. * Speakers
The MacBook Air already has speakers which are cleverly hidden under the keyboard. Using the right speakers with a MacBook Air is imperative if your customers a high quality of audio to go with their choice in a high quality computer. Quite often using speakers when giving a presentation is all a part of showing the company image.
