M U L T I F U N C T I O N RAIN & MASSAGE SHOWER SPA INSTALLATION GUIDE AND USER MANUAL Model No. QB013 ATTENTION BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION, READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS FIRST. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE USE. CAREFULLY CHECK THE PRODUCT AND ITS COMPONENTS FOR DAMAGE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. IF THERE IS ANY DAMAGE OR IF YOU ARE MISSING PARTS, PLEASE CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLL FREE AT 1-877-333-0098 (MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 8:30 AM TO 4:30 PM, EST). INSTALLING A DAMAGED UNIT WILL VOID THE WARRANTY. DO NOT RETURN TO THE PLACE OF PURCHASE BEFORE CALLING THE TOLL FREE NUMBER. DO NOT DISPOSE OF PACKAGING UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH YOUR NEW SHOWER SPA. BEFORE YOU BEGIN WARNING: Always wear safety goggles and gloves during installation to prevent personal injury. Flat mounting surface required for installation. See Fig. 1. FIG. 1 This unit might not be suitable for installation with some fiberglass or acrylic showers or tub surrounds. This product has to connect with your current automatic compensating (pressure balanced) valve. Your installation must comply with all local plumbing building codes. Have a qualified tradesman do or approve your plumbing installation. Protect the entire surface during installation. Your shower valve, diverter valve or diverter tub spout will be used in its current position and will operate as it was used before with your previous shower head. See Fig. 2. This unit can either be installed with Option A: Double sided tape or Option B: Bottom bracket and screws. In both cases, the weight of the unit is carried by the mounting bracket [F]. The double sided tape [Z] or the bottom bracket [W] prevent the unit from swinging during operation. FIG. 2 Existing shower valve Tub spout SHOWER HEAD INSTALLATION 1. Remove the top cover [L] and the stainless steel cover [M] from the shower column [Q]. See Fig. 3. 2. Remove the nut [K] that is pre-installed in the shower arm [N]. See Fig. 4. Place the rubber washer [J] onto the L-fitting [I2]. See Fig. 7. 5. Connect the L-fitting [I2] to the shower arm [N]. See Fig. 8. N N K Q FIG. 7 I2 FIG. 8 J N I2 4 6. Check that the rubber washer [O] that is pre-assembled on the shower head [P] is not loose. See Fig. 9. FIG. 9 O FIG. 10 N 7. Screw the shower head [P] on to the shower arm [N]. See Fig. 10. 8. With your shower valve CLOSED, remove your existing shower arm from the wall using a wrench and turning it counter-clockwise. P P FIG. 11 9. Put the Teflon tape [A] on the shorter threaded end of the brass connector [D]. A check valve [C] comes pre-installed on the shorter threaded end of the brass connector [D]. See Fig. 11. B 10. Install the brass connector [D] to the wall with the mesh gasket [B]. See Fig. 12. A Clean the wall around the brass connector [D] thoroughly with a dry cloth. FIG. 13 FIG. 14 F D E F 11. Peel off the paper backing from the double sided tape [E] that is pre-installed on the mounting bracket [F]. See Fig. 13. 12. Place the mounting bracket [F] onto the brass connector [D] and adhere it upright to the wall. See Fig. 14. D D Make sure that the shorter threaded (check valve) end faces the wall. If the brass connector is installed reversed, there will be NO WATER FLOW. Protect the threads on the brass connector with a rag, if necessary, to avoid damaging them. FIG. 12 FIG. 15 G D 13. Secure and tighten a nut [G] onto the brass connector [D]. See Fig. 15. PROCEED WITH EITHER OPTION A: DOUBLE SIDED TAPE OR OPTION B: BOTTOM BRACKET AND SCREWS. 5 OPTION A: DOUBLE SIDED TAPE FIG. 16 14A1. Connect the L-fitting [I1] to the brass connector [D] with the restrictor [H]. With a dry rag, thoroughly clean the wall between the brass connector and the shower valve. See Fig. 16. H 14A2. Peel the paper backing off the double sided tape [Z] on the back of the shower column [Q]. See Fig. 17. I1 D 14A3. Hang the shower column [Q] onto the mounting bracket [F] through the holes in the shower column. Position the shower column so that is level, then apply pressure to the main body to firmly adhere the double sided tape [Z] to the wall. Fig. 18. FIG. 17 FIG. 18 F PROCEED WITH FINAL INSTALLATION. Q Q Z Z OPTION B: BOTTOM BRACKET AND SCREWS 14B1. Mark and drill three holes that are 0.25" (6.4 mm) in diameter, as shown in Fig. 19. Two holes are drilled with their centers 22.25" (565.2 mm) below the center of the inlet pipe. They should be side by side with their centers 0.67" (17 mm) apart and the center line from the inlet pipe running between them. The third hole is drilled on the center line 0.79" (20.1 mm) below the first two holes. FIG. 19 22.25" (565.2 mm) 0.67" (17 mm) 0.79" (20.1 mm) 6 14B2. Insert the wall anchors [V] into the holes. Secure the bottom bracket [W] to the wall with the screws [X] and stainless steel washers [Y]. See Fig. 20. FIG. 20 14B3. Connect the L-fitting [I1] to the brass connector [D] with the restrictor [H]. See Fig. 21. V W 14B4. Hang the bottom of the shower column [Q] on the bottom bracket [W], then hang the top of the shower column on the mounting bracket [F] through the holes in shower column. See Fig. 22. X Y FIG. 21 H PROCEED WITH FINAL INSTALLATION. I1 D FIG. 22 F Q W 7 FINAL INSTALLATION 15. Place the top cover [L] and the stainless steel cover [M] on the shower column [Q]. See Fig. 23. FIG. 23 FIG. 24 Q M 16. Attach one end of the shower hose [U] to the body of the shower column [Q] and the other end to the hand held shower head [R] using the rubber washers [T]. A check valve [S] comes pre-installed in the hand held shower head [R]. See Fig. 24. L R T Q U NOTE: Do not forget to use the rubber washers [T], as they prevent the connections from leaking. T 17. Make sure that the hose is not bent or kinked. Check water connections for proper flow and make sure that there are no leaks. If you find that water pressure or volume is low, clean the mesh gasket [B]. OPERATION To use the shower panel, open your shower valve (as per your normal use) and flip the diverter valve on the shower valve or on the tub spout to redirect water from the toe tester or tub’s spout to the shower. Ensure that you drill holes according to the instructions and that you secure the shower column [Q] on the double-sided tape [Z] or on the bottom bracket [W]. If you find that water pressure or volume is low, clean the mesh gasket [B]. If there is no water flow, check the brass connector [D] to make sure that it has not been installed reversed. Check step 10 of the installation guide. If the check valve [C] is installed correctly but there is still no water, take the shower column [Q] off the wall, loosen the L fitting [I1] and check that the restrictor [H] is not blocked by dirt. Take the restrictor off, clean it with water and reinstall it. CARE AND MAINTENANCE After use, rinse the shower column with water using the hand held shower to remove any soap deposits. Conglom Kitchen & Bath will repair or replace, at its option, the unit or its equipment in accordance with the following terms and conditions. WARRANTY LIMITATIONS Our warranty does not cover defects, damage, or failure caused by the common carrier, installer, user, or other person, or resulting from, without limitation, any of the following: • Careless handling (lifting unit by plumbing, abrading finish, etc.) • Modification of any type for any reason (including modification to meet local codes) • Improper installation (including installation not in accordance with instructions and specifications provided with the unit) • Connections supplies by the installer of the equipment • Improper voltage supply or unauthorized electrical modification • Misuse, incorrect operation, or lack of proper routine maintenance • Operation of the unit without specified minimum amount of water or at inappropriate water temperature • Use of abrasive or improper cleaners • Acts of God, such as lighting, floods, earthquakes, etc. In addition, Conglom Kitchen & Bath WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES or losses arising from any cause (e.g., water damage to carpet, ceiling, loss of use, etc.) including its own negligence; damages to, respecting, or resulting from plated parts when chemicals are used in or on the unit; optional equipment not manufactured by Conglom Kitchen & Bath; or defects that should have been discovered before installation. This limited warranty does not include labor, transportation, or other costs incurred in the removal and/or reinstallation of the original unit and/or installation of a replacement unit; any costs relating to obtaining access for repair; or loss of use, including loss of sales, profit or business advantage of any kind under any circumstances. This warranty does not extend to commercial or institutional use or installation. It is the responsibility of the installer/owner to determine specific local code compliance prior to installation of the product. Conglom Kitchen & Bath makes no representation or warranty regarding, and will not be responsible for any code compliance. Conglom Kitchen & Bath does not warrant connections of water supply fittings and piping, or fill systems. Nor is it responsible for damage to the shower panel which occurs during any installation procedure. 11 WARRANTY CLAIM PROCEDURE If a claimable defect occurs, please fill out a claim form through our website at www.conglomkb.com or contact our customer service department at 1-877-333-0098 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, EST). Before you make your claim call, please make sure you have: 1. The description of the product 2. Proof of sale 3. Details regarding the defect 4. Name and address of the owner and installer Claims must be filled out in writing and returned within six (6) months of appearance of defect. Failure to comply with this stipulation will make the warranty null and void. We reserve the right to a thirty-day (30) delay following receipt of claim in which to inspect the product. We assume no responsibility for labor costs or removing/replacing a previously installed product or transportation or return of a product.
