Meeting California San Joaquin Valley Emission Requirements QLN-IITM Ultra-Low NOx Burner
Strict Guidelines No Trouble For Reliable Burner. Oil producers tasked with meeting the San Joaquin Valley Unified Air Pollution Control District’s emission requirements have found a reliable solution: the QLN-II Ultra-Low NOx Burner. NOx levels have been measured as low as 2 ppm on natural gas, 3 ppm on propane, and 4 ppm with supplemental casing (waste) gas firing. In addition, CO emissions well under 25 ppm have been measured. This proven performance covers OTSG burner capacity range of 20 - 85 MMBtu/hr while complying with Rule 4320’s NOx emissions requirement.
At A Glance. In service since 2008 with high operational reliability.
QLN-II installations have also delivered: ++ A compact flame with no impingement on the generator walls ++ Low horsepower fan for a more economical operation ++ Low excess air (10%) for more efficient operation
Smart Design Eliminates Hassles, Maximizes Efficiency The QLN-II Ultra-Low NOx Burner delivers quick start-ups and efficient operation in both new and retrofit installations. ++ Minimal equipment changes enable streamlined installation for a quick turnaround ++ Most burner retrofits can reuse the existing windbox, main gas train, and BMS system for a cost-effective upgrade ++ Combustion air fan mounted on top of the windbox reduces cab footprint and noise level at the operator level ++ Compact design provides the operator easy access to the burner front ++ Robust combustion controls simplify operation: ++ No proprietary controls required ++ Single fuel control valve and flow meter
+ Meets current San Joaquin Valley NOx requirements + Minimizes fan horsepower requirements and energy costs + Operates efficiently with low excess air levels + Utilizes oil producer’s standard controls + High reliability with utilization of › 99+% reported

More than 80 Years of Trusted Performance. As strict air pollution regulations make it increasingly difficult to remain competitive, John Zink Hamworthy Combustion continues to provide reliable and economical combustion technologies that can meet and exceed environmental performance standards. Let us prove our performance to you.
Proven Performance, Backed By Experience Our engineers leveraged the proven performance of our established QLNTM (Quantum Low NOx) burner and the knowledge gained from more than 500 QLN burner installations worldwide to develop the innovative ultra-low NOx technology in the QLN-II burner. The result: an effective, economical solution for sub-5 ppm NOx emissions.
This 20 MMBtu/hr portable, ultra-low NOx package fires propane while achieving NOx as low as 3 ppm and CO of 10 ppm.
The QLN-II Ultra-Low NOx Burner features compact packaging with a shorter overall footprint and easy access to the burner front for startup and maintenance.
This oil-producer fleet of 85 MMBTU/hr QLN-II burner packages fires natural gas and meets sub-5 ppm NOx with minimum start-up and reliable operation.
