Target Market Qsonix’s involvement in the Home Entertainment market is focused on music enthusiasts and music collectors who desire the ultimate in sound fidelity and are served by specialty retailers and electronic systems contractors of fine audio as well as more complex wholehouse distributed audio systems. The Qsonix target market includes individual consumers and households that purchase large libraries of CD’s, downloaded music, and DVDs. From the teenager with hundreds of CDs and downloaded songs, to the audiophile who has invested thousands of dollars in sophisticated whole-house entertainment systems, these consumers all face the same challenge: how to organize, manage and control the way they access their music. Qsonix addresses these needs with an innovative user-interface that utilizes embedded systems architecture, digital storage, touch screen technology and home based networking solutions. The Qsonix integration of this technology provides a powerful yet simple to operate user experience. Qsonix also markets to the commercial market and public venues where background music playback provides an important role in the mood, entertainment or theme of the establishment. Public venues include bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants, eateries, coffee houses, hotels, department stores, retail outlets and professional offices. Today this market is dominated by publicly accessible “jukeboxes,” large CD player/changer systems and inflexible satellite based “broadcast channel” solutions from vendors such as Muzak and DMX Music systems. Qsonix addresses this market through a combination of strategic partners and commercial oriented resellers and installers. Qsonix products offer venue owners tremendous flexibility, convenience and control over their music with a user friendly, easy to learn interface that puts the Venue owner in control.

The Qsonix platform is based on the Windows Media™ 9 WMA codec, offering industry leading sound quality and support for digital rights management. Users can choose from four recording qualities including; a) “CD quality” which uses lossless compression technology to maintain 100% CD quality, b) “High Quality” which encodes at 320KKbs bitrate or c)“Normal Quality” which encodes 128Kbs bitrate compressed audio and optionally d) in uncompressed .wav format, which results in a storage capacity ranging from 500 to nearly 25,000 CD’s. Multi-Zone enabled The Q105, Q110 and QJB110 systems offer two or four discrete analog audio outputs (zones) depending on model that can be independently controlled with separate playlists, playback functions and volume controls using the same friendly graphical userinterface to manage unique music playback in two simultaneous locations such as the living room and pool or patio.

Volume Leveled Playback Qsonix automatically manages playback volume to address the different recording levels used in commercial CD production.
Volume leveling addresses the inherent difference in recording levels of CDs manufactured and mastered during different time periods and by different studios. This can result in a very noticeable difference in volume level when playing a playlist of tracks that contain music from different artists and time periods.
Simply enable “volume leveling” and let Qsonix do all the work.
Qsonix utilizes waveform analysis techniques and advanced realtime software DSP technology to dynamically adjust volume levels during playback to “level” or “normalize” the volume level. This leveling function operates in real-time and does not modify the original source in order to preserve the quality of the source material.
Enjoy consist ant playback volume regardless of the age or source of your music library.
The result is a consistent playback volume during playback, regardless of the original recording level of the material. This feature can be easily enabled or disabled at any time.
