Introduction The Quad Screen Splitter ( QSS ) LCD console drawers represents the latest technology in KVM switching. The key advantage over conventional KVM switches is that it allows you to simultaneously display and administer 4 computers on a single console. It combines KVM features and a digital multi-viewer scaling and converting videos at both inputs and output. Configure with 24 inch A-Grade FHD LCD panels, integrated 4-port DVI-D/USB/Audio/HUB, support Full screen and Quad screen mode. The self-locking rails when in the fully extended open position and the ultra convenient auto lock release when the LCD panel is closed, make for simple and hassle free operation. Rear View of QSS 2. Seamless Cursor Switching It allows the port-switch just as the mouse pointer moving across the display boundary; just like the mouse disappears at one PC and appears at another PC. (as figure,the pointer starts from screen 1) As the mouse moves across the boundary 1-2, the working port would be switched from 1 to 2. As the mouse moves across the boundary 2-4, the working port would be switched from 2 to 4. As the mouse moves across the boundary 4-3, the working port would be switched from 4 to 3. 4 4. Product Description Front Panel Port LED Indicator 1 ~ 4 Port Select Button 1 ~ 4 When the specific port button is pressed, or the mouse When the specific port button is pressed, the mouse moves to certain port, the LED of the acting port would pointer would be moved to the center of the port Button be lighted. LED 1 lights-up as power-on by default. 1,2,3,4 maps to the port 1~4 respectively. Full Screen Mode LED Indicator LED ON indicates it’s in full screen display. Full Screen Mode Button As pressed, the selected port would be displayed in the full screen. Quad Screen Mode Button Quad Screen Mode LED Indicator As pressed, it would have Quad-split-screen to display LED ON indicates it’s in Quad Screen mode the images of PC’s. The resolution would be applied to the Full screen display. As to Quad-screen mode, each source image would be scaled to the one-fourth size of the full screen mode then merged as a whole picture. 9 6. Installation Step 1 – Power-On LCD Drawer Warning: Before attempting to connect anything to the Switch, or your computers, please ensure that all computer equipment and devices are powered off.  Power-ON LCD Drawer, it would have a short beep-sound  LED-1 ON and Full-Screen LED ON at the front panel Step 2 – Connecting (PC1) Computer to the KVM  Connect the USB2.0 A-to-B cable from USB port at KVM PC1 section to PC1’s USB2.0 port.  Connect the DVI cable from DVI port at KVM PC1 section to PC1’s DVI port. (optional) Connect the audio cable from the headset (green) port at the KVM PC1 section to PC1’s audio output (green) or line output (blue). Step 3 – Power-Up PC1  Power up PC1  Check for display and peripheral (keyboard/mouse) functionality Step 4 – Power-Up PC 2, 3, and 4  Press the button 2 (LED2 would be lighten); turn on PC2,check its KB/MS functionality at PC2.  Then,press the button 3,power-up PC3, and check KB/MS functionality at PC3.  Finally,press the button 4, and power-up PC4, and check KB/MS functionality of PC4. If you encounter an error, check your cable connections for that computer and reboot. If the problem persists, please refer to the Troubleshooting section in this User Manual. 10 7. Operation 7.1 Front Panel Initial state (LED 1 ON, Full-Screen-Mode LED ON) Press ”button 2”, switch to PC2 Likely, press ”button 3”, switch to PC3 11 As press “Quad-mode” button, it would be in Quad-display mode, the mouse keeps at PC3. Press “button 2”, the mouse would be switched to PC2. When the full-screen mode button is pressed, it turns to Full-screen mode, the mouse keeps at PC2. 12 7.2 Hotkey Description Hotkey Beep Description CTRL, CTRL, 1 1-short beep Switch to PC1 CTRL, CTRL, 2 1-short beep Switch to PC2 CTRL, CTRL, 3 1-short beep Switch to PC3 CTRL, CTRL, 4 1-short beep Switch to PC4 CTRL,CTRL, l 1-short beep Full Screen Mode Display Or CTRL,CTRL, L CTRL,CTRL, u Or CTRL,CTRL, U Mouse would be locked within this screen 1-short beep Quad Split-Mode Display Mouse could move across four screens 13 7.3 Mouse Operation In Quad-Split-Screen mode (as below figure) mouse moves across PC1-PC2 boundary, the mouse would switch from PC1 to PC2; keyboard is switched as well. 14 8. Troubleshooting No LED lights • Check that the power supply or power cable is properly connected to the mains socket. • Check that DC plug is fully inserted into the switch DC jack • Check that the device is powered by using optical mouse with visible red light. If power is not available, change the power supply. Mouse not working • Check that the mouse is not plugged into keyboard port, and vice-versa. • If the computer is coming out of standby mode, allow up to one minute to regain mouse function. Keyboard not working • Check that the keyboard you are using is connected properly to the KVM. • Check that the USB cable between the KVM and the computer is completely connected. • Try connecting to a different USB port on the computer. • Make sure the keyboard works when directly plugged into the computer (the HID USB driver is installed on the computer). Rebooting may be necessary when trying this. • Make sure you are not using a keyboard with an integrated USB hub or other USB-integrated devices. • Try a different keyboard. 15
