QuakeLive Rules And Regulations 1 Before the match 1.1 Game type will be Duel, and will be played in a Best of 3 Maps format. The time limit for each map is 10 minutes, with 2 minute overtime intervals if the score is equal after the allotted time. 2 Match Rules 2.1 Map Choice The left-most player in the match details begins by choosing a map to delete from the playlist, after which the right-most player will also remove one map. The three remaining maps will be played during the match. The left-most player in the match details decides which map will be played first, and then the opponent must pick the second. The last map will be used to break any tie that may occur. 2.2 Maplist • qzdm6 (Campgrounds) • qzdm13 (Lost World) • qztourney7 (Furious Heights) • qztourney9 (House of Decay) • ztntourney1 (Blood Run) 2.3 Servers, and choice Servers will be provided by The Gathering and the password will be announced by a Match Admin before the start of the match. All matches will be played on servers most suitable for both players. 2.4 Multiple Server Match Where players are not able to find a suitable server (for example, due to latency, ping times, etc), each player will choose a server to use, and the games will be played by alternating play on each competitor’s server. For example, player A’s map choice will be played on Player B’s server, and player B’s map choice will be played on player A’s server. If a third map is needed it will be played with a 5 minute time limit on both already played servers, after which time the scores will be added together in order to decide on a winner. 3 During the Match 3.1 Disconnects These rules discuss disconnects, and what to do in any stage of the match when they occur. 3.1.1 Disconnects in the first 3 minutes of a map If a player unwillingly drops link during the first 3 minutes of any map, the map will be replayed from the start. 3.1.2 Disconnects in the last 3 minutes of a map Disconnects in the last three minutes of the map will be subject to decision by the Gam Admin. The Admin will decide whether the remaining minutes/seconds are played after a restart of the map or if the score at the time of disconnect counts as final result. 3.2 Custom HUD and configs Players are free to use their own configuration files and to manipulate HUDs as long as no unfair advantage is gained. Please consult the admin team prior to your first match to ensure that your changes will be allowed under fair play rules. 3.3 Spectators Spectators are not allowed. Only admins and authorized coverage partners are allowed to spectate matches. Players are not allowed to forward the password to any external person. 3.4 Spamming In-game Three (3) minor penalty points will be awarded if the chat function in-game is abused in any way, including annoying an opponent, or generally attempting to change the flow of play. The all-chat functions are there to communicate efficiently with the opponent and the Match Admins. 3.5 Failure to Play This will result in a default win for the other participant. 4 Matchmedia 4.1 Screenshots All players must take screenshots of the results of each game and keep them until the end of the tournament. They must also upload them to the server specified by the Game Admins within 24 hours of the completion of the match. 4.2 Demos All players must record demos from their matches.
