Quantum Series Portable Model PR-5 VHF 146 – 174 MHz Model PR-6 UHF 450 – 470 MHz This rugged portable provides good basic communications and a host of integrated features.
General Fully synthesized, this versatile portable features a 1 or 5 watt programmable high/low power setting for maximum efficiency. This option provides the flexibility to conserve battery life and to communicate in marginal coverage areas. The Quantum can be programmed per channel to operate on either 12.5 kHz or 25 kHz bandwidths. 83 DCS codes and 50 CTCSS tones are also programmable at random per channel. The Quantum can be programmed within the UHF or VHF splits without any need for re-tuning the radio! Programmable features also include Normal Scan & Priority Scan, Busy Channel Lockout, Time Out Timer, Battery Save & Squelch Tail Elimination.
Rugged Design Special chassis design provides a rugged housing for the radio’s internal circuitry. The Quantum Portable meets MIL-STD 810E for reliable performance.
Features In addition to the Quantum’s new rugged design, the radio includes many of the options requested by its users, like a standard Rapid Charger and High Capacity 1100 mAh battery. The Quantum Portable is field programmable using PC compatible software and is also cloneable, radio to radio. The Channel Busy Lockout feature prevents transmission when a carrier is present.
Accessories Users can choose from a list of optional accessories including: Leather Carrying Cases, Speaker/Microphone, Headset with Boom Mic. and Surveillance Audio Kits.
