EJournal™ Software Quick Install Step by Step Instructions: 1. Record your USB Flash drive serial number in the Quick Reference section to the right. 2. Close all other programs. 3. Uninstall any previous version of Ejournal™. Use the windows uninstall. See the user manual for full details. The user manual is on the flash drive and also available from the our web site. 4. If you have not already, log in as Administrator. This software must be installed by the computer's Administrator and made available for all users. 5. Identify a USB port into which the flash drive will be plugged and where it will remain. (Do not connect the EJournal™ flash drive into an external hub. Using an external hub USB port may reduce the reliability of the license key.) 6. Plug the flash drive into the USB port. 7. Using the Windows(TM) explorer, navigate to the flash drive and find and run the file: setup.exe 8. Choose the Default options for placing the program in the Windows “Program Files” folder. 9. After the install finishes, set the folder into which the journal files will be captured. (We suggest making a folder in the MyDocuments path called “EJournal” 10. Set the serial port the same as the Point of Sale serial port. Go to Journal_Operations, Select_Folder, Serial Options. 11. Connect to the Point of Sale system with appropriate cabling, using the instructions provided with the cabling. 12. Press the Go icon to start the capture process.

Troubleshooting: Check for proper power to all devices. Verify the journal printer is operating normally. Examine all RJ45 connections checking for full insertion and retention of the cables into the adapters. Check for bent wires in the RJ45 connections. Close the POS software and open HyperTerminal on the same COM port. Configure HypterTerminal for flow control off. Type some text and check for receipt of the text in EJournal™
